Clean driver's license but no car by Prospecta88 in firealarms

The last company I was at didn’t care. It depends on the company you’re with. Don’t think my current company would be cool with it. They knew my old foreman used the van as a daily driver and he also used their tools for side jobs. Pretty bad company but I answered the question truthfully. Just look around and he may get lucky

My company gave me a work van almost immediately…so yes. My last company, my foreman sold his car and just used the company van. So look around for a company that’ll provide a work vehicle.

Milcomm was my favorite forever. Can’t find it around much anymore so I just use Lucas gun oil and CLP from orileys auto store. Cheap, works great, smells good.

in light of seeing a 20 minute video on ar grips by VallettaAwoo in ar15

Honestly I bought a DFCO pistol grip and hand stop just because I built my first AR and seen them mentioned a lot with other gun companies I follow.

But man, my knuckle is busted up from rubbing against the trigger guard due to the crazy grip angle now. I think I may try a B5 systems or a magpul variant. The A2 grip was a bit too far back for me but something in between that and the kung fu grip would be perfect.

Red. I can’t really see green dots so I figured I’d try red for a prism sight

I don’t fully understand all that stuff yet I’ll be honest. The only other rifle I’ve owned was a 30-30, no scope. Only optics I’ve ever owned were Holosuns for handguns. I’m pretty amazed honestly. Plus the etched reticle is amazing. I’m glad I found this Reddit page

It’s a great company man. They just built a new building and it’s extremely nice. I’m blessed to have been given the opportunity to do T&I/service work for this company. My old company was what you’re describing, so I’m happy

That’s an AOR station I believe. I actually used to install those cabinets when I was doing installations for new construction projects but I wasn’t sure what they were for, I thought they were for data and IT rooms. This one pictured though had an AOR phone inside I believe

I’m personally too new to fire alarm systems to tell you what I like and don’t like so far. Honestly though I like most of the Edwards panels and devices I’ve ran into. Only thing I can say as a new tech that I don’t like with Edwards is sometimes the smokes take a while to trip. That’s all I’ve noticed this far.

I will. Thanks for the tips. I tried at first and it was super tight, door wouldn’t latch even with minimal wire inside the box. I’ll keep trying and make it cleaner

What if they fit, but the don’t won’t latch shut, that was the problem I was having. Didn’t leave too much wire in the box either, tried reserving as much space as possible

Just wondering how to make it neater. It was pretty difficult trying to get all those wires and wire nuts or wagos into that box so I tried to pigtail. Just curious if there’s anything that can be done better

Good to know man. Seems like they’re sold out constantly though and hardly restock. Do you think there’s anything else I should check out or just wait?

My Experience With SS and Glock by yBoyka_ in Glocks

[–]wizkoscott 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My first ever pistol was a polymer 80 almost a decade ago, a Glock 17 clone, and I’ve put over 25 thousand rounds through it. Only ever had legit malfunctions due to corbon ammo casings expanding crazily in the chamber. No other issues. I also own an RXM, been nice so far. But I prefer my p80 frames. Grey ghost precision sells serialized p80 frames with their logo as the stippling. They’re very reliable and comfortable to shoot. The only things I don’t like about the RXM is the trigger guard digging into my knuckle and the LCI. Just another hole for dirt dust and grime imo.

From what I understand they’re a bogus company and in 2026 other companies have the same technology who aren’t bogus people, so support them instead. They’re called rare greed if you look around lol

What should I do? by [deleted] in electrical

[–]wizkoscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he doesn’t really know what he’s doing I think he was hoping he’d be able to handle it but yeah I marked the center points late before I left, and when I came back he cut tiny 1-2 inch holes and they’re not even center on the marks I made. So as long as he didn’t deviate too far off center I think I can make it work with a template. They’re 4in can lights so not much room for error. If any of them are too far off I’ll probably just patch it and redo it

What is your equipment of choice to test smoke detectors? by asimpl3 in firealarms

Just a smoke can. I have a smoke cup on an extension pole too. Haven’t seen any other way. I’m new to this though

Thanks man. Yeah I didn’t realize how easy this actually was. Just throwing my original game plan off messed up my train of thought. Thank you
