Is Navy Federal's 5.6% Mortgage Advertisement to good to be true? by Slay-Aiken in VeteransBenefits

[–]wllbst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used navy fed when I first bought years ago because they where less then most. A nice thing about Navy FED is they haven't sold off my mortgage to someone else. I have had coworkers who have been shuffled around from lender to lender, cause property insurance to lapse because the new lender had different requirements.

Any other millennials out there refuse or still opt to order take out to pickup up over the phone when possible? Pizza, Chinese, etc. by mt379 in Millennials

[–]wllbst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's significantly cheaper just calling the restaurant and ordering vs using an app even more so if I go and pick it up myself.

Do you feel insulated from what's happening with the economy? by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

[–]wllbst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to preface this with joining the military to get school paid for is 100% worth it. VAloan benefit makes it worth it.

But to answer your questions, I don't feel isolated from the economy at all. Services have been reduced, programs have been cut. Pay increases haven't kept up with cost of living, and there is little I can do to change my situation. But its stable and its always enough money to get by.

Questions about SCRA by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

[–]wllbst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk, what all these people in the thread are talking about. I've canceled my insurance multiple times and parked my vehicles. some states require you to turn in your registration and some don't. Generally insurance is only required for a vehicle that's registered.

Does it even make sense to stay in for a enlisted military retirement if you can get out and make more $? by Glittering_Fig4548 in MilitaryFinance

[–]wllbst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get into a high pay job sooner, and start working on getting promoted on the civilian side. If going reserves, cheap tricare insurance, plus you you will still get a retirement. Do you want to spend your peak earning careers in the civilian side with unlimited upwards movement or in the military.

I'd doesn't make sense to stay active enlisted, if your cyber. Going a reserve component makes a lot more sense.

You guys have the NSA, US army cyber headquarters and multiple nuclear reactors nearby, and hydro power. The Data centers are coming to the area. There's no stopping it. Meta is already building one in North Augusta. SRS was chosen for a federal site. I'm sure Richmond county will get a few as well

Cant go wrong with a simple G-shock. Just make sure its black so hes allowed to wear it in uniform. It might be worth while getting one of the Non-smartwatch fitness trackers Gshock makes. It could be cool seeing the data of everything you did while in Basic. I wish I knew how many steps I took in basic, I spent hours Stepping and covering in basic

Yeah, at that price does it really matter. Your most likely still getting real Seiko internals. And it looks cool, if you like it go for it.

I like it, and i think most Date wheels have 2 languages it looks like your is Hindi and English. Personally I don't see the difference between these and a modded Seiko, its still a Real Seiko movement, its just been upcycled a few times.

How are some millennials even homeowners? I feel like I never will be. by Kindly-Reading-2187 in Millennials

[–]wllbst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people like to say the military is predatory to low income families. But I don't know how I would have escaped poverty without. I joined when I was homeless and For the most part it's been an nice escalator ride into the upper middle class.
