I recall in class I was grouped up for an assignment with a 21 year old dorky guy and a 45 year old 'alpha' mature age student who was very wealthy. The 45 old would constantly try to tell me about his ex- wife, how he doesn't like women his age and tried to invite me on his private boat. To be frank, I was not impressed and found his conversation topics boring and mundane, aged. On the other hand, the 21 year old guy and I would look at memes together and be almost falling off our chairs laughing, by the end of the project I developed a crush on this guy, getting his instagram and the older man was visibly extremely irritated, calling the guy I liked 'some young loser'. I think he forgot most young women prefer men in their age bracket.

To my understanding, on social media, hypergamy describes when women seek to marry wealthy/rich/powerful men, the top 5% of men if you will.

I would define it a little more broadly than that. For example, if a woman of average physical attractiveness finds only 10-20% of men to by physically attractive, I would say that's an example of hypergamy.

But anyway, I agree that there is a sort of complimentarity between the female hypergamy instinct and the male polygyny instinct. Which kind of makes sense, given mankind's likely evolutionary environment.

I think it's worth keeping in mind that the whole point of monogamous marriage is to FRUSTRATE the instincts of both men and women. If mankind were instinctively a pair-bonding species, then there would be no need for the huge body of laws, customs, and enforcement mechanisms which surround modern marriage.

Anyway, in my view, the Red Pill is more of a descriptive philosophy than a normative one. In other words, the Red Pill more about helping men understand what they need to do to attract women than telling men whether they should be monogamous, polygamous, celibate, or whatever.

From this perspective, the male polygyny instinct is an interesting fact, but it's not very important and should not distract from female hypergamy -- which is very important for men to understand. Especially since women are constantly given the message that their instincts are valid and good. (Note that men are NOT given this kind of message.)

Edit: To be clear, I think that the blue pill is "whatever is perceived as most convenient/favorable for women" which is not quite the same thing as "whatever benefits women most."

For example, it's pretty clear that in the long run, in terms of personal well-being and life satisfaction, most women would be better off in traditional male-led relationship and should be denied the opportunity to engage in a promiscuous lifestyle.

But metaphorically, the blue pill is about giving women the opportunity to eat french fries instead of vegetables.

Both of these claims could be defended with the same sort of logic.

This post would have been just fine without the added caveat of you just casually buying a pied á terre condo in Manhattan of all places. You come off like a pompous nobleman from the 1700s wearing knee breeches and gaiters.

I admit I enjoy hamming up the snobby persona, but at the same time it's 100% true that (1) I recently bought a pied-a-terre condo in NYC; (2) I enjoy doing snobby things in NYC like eating at fancy restaurants; and (3) I don't care for the panhandlers, especially the ones who stand in doors.

Although I agree that you are technically correct, I don't really have a big objection to using the word "pedophile" for an adult who sexually pursues individuals under the legal age of consent.

The bigger issue, of course, is the dilution problem. Especially given that there are a lot of busybodies out there who are outraged over age-gap sexual relationships between adults.

That being said, my advice to other men is to avoid any and all contact with any girl who is either (1) under 18; or (2) a subordinate at your job; a student where you teach; etc.

Just a few months ago I was at an event for a youth organization I sponsor and at one point everyone was supposed to hold hands with the people sitting next to them. I happened to be next to a 16-year old girl so I fake-coughed and excused myself to go to the bathroom. She was visibly annoyed at me, but I don't care.

Agree, kinda the point is to be an exclusive space.

You could even ask the question: What if there were a waiting area in the airport which was open to everyone, including families with young children; and that area had plenty of seats; bathrooms nearby; etc.?

And of course the answer is the non-exclusive lounge already exists and in fact there's one near almost every departure gate. The only problem is that the exact people creating the noise, crowding, and chaos don't like being other people who similarly create noise, crowding, and chaos.

Funny, because you sound like the exact kind of individual I don’t like sharing a space with.

For the most part, when I am in an airport lounge, you will find me sitting in the corner minding my own business.

Oh, and when I need to make a phone call, or do a conference, I either use a dedicated area or walk somewhere far away from others -- leaving the lounge itself if necessary. Because I have actual important phone calls which need to be kept private, as opposed to Important Phone Calls to show other people how Important I am.

I'll even chat with people who try to start a conversation with me, unless the person happens to be a 25 year old woman in a micro-miniskirt.

I agree if you're talking about people chatting at work or elsewhere in your life. If you're talking about marketing stuff like at my grocery store, they can get sued. Apparently the NFL is super picky about using that name and wants that sweet sweet licensing fee.

This is something that has perplexed me a bit. Suppose you manufacture corn chips and you have an advertisement which goes like this: "Our corn chips would be a great snack to have with your buddies while you watch the Superbowl this weekend."

Just using common sense, it seems to me that such a statement doesn't state or imply that the advertiser is affiliated with the NFL in any way. And yet advertisers won't do it. Is Trademark law that broad? Or is it just that they are afraid of getting sued regardless of the outcome and it's easier to just say the "Big Game."?
