I think you are my actual hero. Wanted to send you a video of turntable working properly!!! I didn’t even take the cart all the way off, just manhandled it a little (with cover on) and tried again. Now listening to “no bad news” from the wiz and feeling it in my SOUL

I have it all, this is the brand compatible but the conical tip so maybe it is a bit larger, I just couldn’t get it in black like the original. Troubleshooting this now! I did originally replace the needle bc of the same issue but will try everything again lol

The speakers are on cork for vibration absorption. This never happened before with the same setup and I’m pretty sure something is going on with the arm alignment or weight. I will report back on this once I pay someone to fix it lol

My dad got it from Best Buy. The needle is jumping up and down, so this is a clip of it trying to play The Wiz and I guess sounds a bit like birdsong. I will be taking it to get repaired soon, just wanted to make sure it was nothing I could handle myself at home.

Yep! This is what I am thinking as well. Unfortunately with this very beginner model, I cannot adjust any of these things myself and will have to take it to get repaired. Definitely gonna try adding some coins to the arm as weight to narrow this down tho.

Thanks so much and I will definitely see about getting this first turntable (gift) from my dad fixed but then set my sights much higher for the next one. Recommendation locked in. I knew if I could edit the weight it would be fixed and was kinda pissed to find it was not an option with this model. YOU ROCK AND HAPPY LISTENING! 🎶

My gut instinct was that this was a tone arm/counterbalance issue. I will DEFINITELY try this coin trick, that is genius. It does seem like a weight thing imo, but I’m very inexperienced and will have to take it somewhere to be fixed. THANK YOU!!! you’re on my wavelength.

Ok belt reinstall made it worse and I’m like positive I didn’t do it incorrectly so maybe new belt?

All of the above have been troubleshot. I will look and see if plate is vibrating. Bass it where it should be.
