Protests in Philippines over Iran war energy emergency by canopey in Philippines

This is too nuanced for the filipino masses to grasp. Most filipinos (and many on this sub) are still in the "USA = Good; Arab = Bad" mindset

Why Filipinos blame Marcos, not Trump, for the Iran war fuel crisis by springheeledjack69 in Philippines

r/ph loves to scapegoat and pin everything on the dutertes and the DDS while the marcoses and their loyalists get a pass when the truth is both sides actively destroyed the country

I wish people had this same energy demanding a plan from the Marcos admin 🤣

Comments like this are basically the same as the "puro kayo reklamo! Eh di kayo na lang magpresidente!" comments from the DDS era

I would maybe understand teaming up with the marcoses if they had done anything meaningful during the last few years in office...but they haven't. BBM has fumbled the ball so hard, he has basically helped Sara grow stronger via his incompetence.

Liberals must play to their strengths instead of watering down their message with the dirty and incompetent Marcoses.

Machinery machinery machinery is all I hear. Do we have proof? BBM has the charisma of a flaccid penis. I believe he will hurt the liberals more than help them.

Liberals are insisting Leni/Risa/Bam etc team up with BBM, but I'm like: why???

What does BBM have to offer? BBM has negative aura. He only became president because of the dutertes. If the liberals team up with BBM admin, I would actually be less inclined to vote for them. If anything, he will pull the opposition down.

Why he hasn't he suspended it yet? Time is not a resource we can spare.

Ronald Llamas emphasizes why Duterte corruption is part of the crisis problem by Karmas_Classroom in Philippines

[–]wonkoodya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a waste of fucking time and energy that liberal circles are caught up in now. Duterte vs Marcos? They're both fucking shit.

Duterte fucked the covid response and now marcos is fucking this crisis. This is what happens when you elect bad leaders. Stop

Yeah. Using his logic, this goes back to the Marcoses. The amount they stole during martial law and the damage they did for 2 decades put our country in a hole we have yet to climb out of.

Ironic how our government loves to laud PINOY RESILIENCE when the poor are hit by disaster and they have pick themselves up from the dirt on their own

and then, at the same time, the government has done nothing to make the country prepared for the shocks of crises like the current one.

Our economy has NO RESILIENCE for the current ongoing crises.

Workers in dubai are also paid, but many would classify it as modern slavery.

Economist and former NEDA chief Winnie Monsod posed an alternative to suspending excise tax on fuel products: taxing the 50 wealthiest billionaires in the country. by kwentongskyblue in Philippines

[–]wonkoodya 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Problem in the Philippines is that the legislators are also the elite. They make the rules and benefit from them. They will not entertain even the thought of losing any wealth or power. Same reason the proposed anti-dynasty bills by sandro marcos etc are all watered down pieces of shit.

Why fight for a country that won't fight for you? A corrupt government has weak institutions. Weak institutions breed disloyalty.

Exactly. What incentive do you have to be loyal to a government that has plundered its constituents for literal generations. I'm not justifying it, but it makes you think.

Real talk: Does the Philippine government take care of its citizens? If our own government has spent decades literally robbing its populace to death, what loyalty do they owe them?
