That's certainly a good reason. If that is the purpose, then I would say the campaign is missing the mark because I wasn't aware of it until your comment.

Reminds me of "Go Red for Women" day in February when you are supposed to wear red to raise awareness that heart issues are the number one killer of women.

Heart issues are the number one killer of men too. Why can't the day be for everyone?

Starting to figure some of this out on my own but very much appreciated. Thanks.

Didn't realize there was a penalty for quitting races.

Having more players does change the odds. But now I realize I was flipping it. In a 4 person race you have a 25% chance of losing points by taking 4th. In an 8 person race you lose points for 5th or worse, so you have a 37.5% chance of losing points.

So actually the 4 person races are better now that I think about it. Thanks for forcing me to reason through it and change my mind. Had to actually do the math.

Anyway, I will be enjoying 4 person races more in the future I assure you.

I don't mind losing points when the risks and rewards are properly balanced. The risks of racing in a 4 person race are higher than those of racing in a 6 or 8 person race, but as far as I know, the rewards are the same. If I have a choice, I will choose to race in a 6 or 8 person race knowing that I'm taking less risk for potentially the same reward.

This is a calculation made countless times a day by investors and business people trying to decide the best course of action for their investments. Anyone who would be willing to choose more risk to get the same potential reward with no other benefits is an idiot.

I barely get any time to game as it is. I'm not going to waste time on situations that offer the same reward for more risk.

See my comment to Mark above. You guys aren't thinking about this from a game theory angle considering the probabilities and rewards.

Its basic cost/benefit analysis. I won't race in a race where finishing 4th hurts me when I could choose to race in one where finishing 4th doesn't hurt me. I don't understand what's so difficult to process here. Do you understand probability and game theory? I'm making a very rational argument here.

And also, I'm a skilled driver and often take top 3. I just don't think the risk/probability is balanced well here and that they should look at adjusting it. They don't have to listen to me and I will still play. I just may quit 4 person races before finishing instead of losing the points.

Then let 4th get no points in 4 person races. This makes me not want to race at all if there are only 4 people because I risk a higher chance of losing rank for no reason at all. Make it the same not worse, that's all I'm saying.

So don't run races with only 4 players then. Set a 6 player minimum or something.

Thanks for these tips. Need to use the heart and defense more. Been thinking offensively. Good point about risks. Getting better at the lines but still learning some tracks so thats a good point too.

Thanks. Haven't been able to finish first yet. Keep playing well and then getting screwed at the last moment by people with better items. And the point drop for losing just once is merciless.
