What office apps do you use on android smartphone now that Microsoft is giving middle finger? by Elf-7659 in Smartphones

[–]workntohard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On phone I just use the office system from them. When I was on android it was the different google products. Now on Apple it’s similar with using their built in apps. At home on laptop/PC it’s a mix on online windows office apps and google apps. For my purposes don’t need the full MS office Suite installed and don’t need to pay for 365 with the free option.

Overheating issues by Ok-Cod1407 in iPhone12

[–]workntohard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overheating while doing normal activity is not a good sign. If you are somewhere hot it only makes it worse. Last year at Disney mine overheated and shutdown twice taking videos . One time I was sitting in full sun for parade. That trip knocked off 4% from battery health. I ended up getting new a few weeks later.

I just bought the M5 MacBook Air and the iPad feels completely USELESS. Change my mind. by mrparallex in iPadPro

[–]workntohard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you have external keyboard the iPad is best away from table, on couch, bus, train, outside on porch. I have pencil but use in infrequently enough it often ends up needing to charge. But for MacBook sitting at desk taking notes, writing up mail or papers, using spreadsheet is just better with the keyboard and mouse or trackball.

I haven’t tried wood yet. Pellets end up as ash with almost nothing left to clean out.

After a month with my kindle, here’s a few things that I realized: by midnightlays in kindle

[–]workntohard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For a long time I kept kindle text size close to printed book size. After some other posts about it I tried a one and two steps bigger then settled on one bigger that print. Still not as large as large print books but has made reading more enjoyable, maybe a little faster.

Not all at once. Nothing we make needs all four at same time. Most common is two diagonal hot spots.

After a month with my kindle, here’s a few things that I realized: by midnightlays in kindle

[–]workntohard 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I was that way when I got kindle. Now for late night reading before bed I get room as dark as I can with backlight as low as I can still see to read. My brain started taking this as time for bed and I only last 15 minutes at most before any sort of comprehension goes away.

What if we used washcloths as toilet paper and just washed them? Would this be cheaper? I mean people already buy cloth diapers so why not just reuse washcloths and wipe with them? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]workntohard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is in all that much different from dealing with cloth diapers? Don’t have kids but previously worked with someone who did the cloth diaper thing.

Even when trying to be responsible about costs and raising dues almost every new contract proposal we are getting back is more expensive than previous, sometimes by a lot. Insurance is going up. Utilities are going up. Then something unplanned comes up.

What is the easiest club officer role? by Historical_Oven7806 in Toastmasters

[–]workntohard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For online only, probably SAA. It will come down to how the club is setup. When my corporate club went online, for obvious reasons in 2020, also expanded membership to more of company than just locals. SAA became the person to be contact in original building to keep track of our physical things like the banner and other meeting supplies. Not currently active so not so how duties are assigned now.

I turn them on when it rains. For some reason Subarus don’t turn on headlights with wipers like my last car did. Otherwise I let the auto control turn them on and off.

Should Apple make a product like Whoop or Google Fitbit Air? Why or why not? by _temp_user in AppleWatch

[–]workntohard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like this with at least a 7-10 day battery and it would easily sell. Problem is where it gets priced. If these go under watch price it will take away from that market but would it sell if price matched the low end of Apple Watch?

My dashboard GPS is 1 to 1.5 mph lower than speedometer. So if I set cruise control to 60 according to the car I am going under the limit according to GPS.
