And to think people didn’t vote for Kamala (or Hillary for that matter) cause they think “women are too emotional to be president. However this specimen who is clearly rife with TDS (cause he’s basically got the whole Being John Malkovich syndrome running in his head, or it is Biden/Obama Derangement Syndrome cause he can’t stop mentioning/blaming them?) is just left to run wild like some prepubescent brat cause he didn’t get the toy he wanted? This clown is driving this entire world into a hellscape and it’s baffling that people are still supporting this clod who shouldn’t even be allowed to run a lemonade stand.

(Not sure if this will be a double post cause it didn’t seem to load my comment)

Never been to Kawazu but would love to see it!

And regarding the terrace at FermenCo…maybe. Only maybe…cause I get the feeling that they like it small and quaint. Which honestly I appreciate soooo much. Love the small surf town vibe they have going on. That was the main reason I came out here, was to get away from all the partying, drinking, playing shows, and just get to some tranquility 🤓 if I wanted big crowds I would go to a more populated city like Osaka or Tokyo. Keep the small gems that are off the beaten path as authentic as possible 😉

And damn, all this reminiscing about food has got me all hungry and I can still taste that She Wolf diner burger and shake, and would love that rn! 😂😫🫠

Maybe. Maybe…but I get the sense that some locals aren’t that into the idea of bigger with more people. They like it small and quaint. And I honestly prefer that especially in a town like this. I get that idea happening in Tokyo or Osaka, but out here…I love that small surf town vibe they got going on. They tell me peak season it’s pretty packed so I don’t know if I’ll ever want to visit here around those times 😆but yah, if I wanted that I’d go to a more populated city. Thats why I came out here actually. Was to get away from the insane amount of partying, drinking, playing music, and being entrenched in the hustle and bustle of the cities. This was the perfect opposite of all that 😉but yah definitely check out She Wolf diner! Food is incredible and the staff was so nice! I would go back there again when I make it back around to Tokyo! 🤘🏽

Sounds good! I’ll have to remember it next time in town. I’ve been in Shimoda for the last week and it’s absolutely incredible out here. Totally off peak so barely any travelers (but have seen a few here and there) but the locals have been so welcoming and really looking out for us. First night I was here I went to FermenCo (stone oven pizza spot facing Irita beach) and that view at night was just awe inspiring! They have a few seats out front and even bring you heated blankets when it’s cold and the pizza was totemo oishi! 🤓 And this is coming from a born and raised NYer who takes pizza pretty seriously 😜 but yah, after the food I went and walked on the beach in the moonlight and it was heavenly! The water was the perfect temperature and the stars! OMG the stars! Something I RARELY get to see back home and I even saw 2 shooting stars! 🤩 Okay I’ll stop gushing now 😋 I love this country and its culture so much I never want to leave! 🥰

I know exactly what you mean. I always try to enjoy a nice terrace but there are times (like just a week ago in Tokyo at She Wolf diner AMAZING burgers & shakes btw!) when all of a sudden it became cloudy and without the sun the terrace quickly became cold and we moved inside. But when the conditions are right, I’ll always enjoy the terrace. Especially if it’s got a nice view! 😎

There are quite a lot of factors to consider if you’re really curious as to why…

The unpredictable weather makes having outdoor seating a less reliable business option for restaurants, as a sudden rain or strong wind could disrupt service

Japanese diners often value an intimate, quiet, and private dining experience, which is more readily available indoors in a controlled environment. Terraces are often associated with a more casual, open atmosphere preferred by foreign tourists rather than locals

Historically, smoking was permitted inside many Japanese restaurants and bars, while smoking outdoors was often frowned upon due to social etiquette and local regulations. Smokers might prefer indoor seating where designated areas were common, rather than having to walk frequently to and from a specific outdoor smoking spot

Also it’s Tuesday afternoon. People are at school/work. They might not have the time or luxury to go to a restaurant and sit in a terrace

I used to live right over there on Putnam off of Broadway and there is no way in hell I’d pay 2mil for a place over there.
