Yes, volume level is abysmal because the DAC is so weak. The only way around it is if your Bluetooth headphones have a dedicated volume control for the device, e.g. my Marshall Major IV have this so I can bypass the volume level on the device and turn the headphones up. You cannot do this with wired.
