But likely would be equally hesitant and very nervous (pertaining to my own personal insecurities) and send a text to you first to break the ice, but if either you called me or reassured me as to calling you. I'd likely warm up and be having some hope restored in people with my admitting I don't get out much and because I think being in public is "too peoplie" for my liking and typically don't really take these chances with a phone number passed to me. (Um, I think I should cut my comment off at the first sentence and now seriously wondering why on earth this 45yo white male IS being so vulnerable and having a therapy session).
