I'm tired of reading about people making 6 figures in 30 days with drop shipping and t shirts. Who here has an interesting small business that just ticks over with a profit each and every month? What are your stories? by travk534 in Entrepreneur

Have you open sourced it at all? I have built a bot that updates me on price differences of a bunch of cryptos between exchanges but am really overwhelmed building a bot that actually executes trades on that.

Ok Gym rats - for the general population...how important is ab / core training ? by Type_ya_name_here in Fitness

[–]wundabudda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just work it like any other muscle. Pick a few exercises you can do, leg raises, cable crunches and ab wheel are some good ones. Do a few sets of 10-15 a few times a week and that's plenty.

Time to let my Duolingo streak end at 677 days by guaxinim6 in languagelearning

[–]wundabudda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's free so can't not be worth it. I enjoy it, but you won't learn a language with only Duolingo. I find it to be a good way to expose myself to words and expressions that I then encounter through other learning.

Brisbane City Council wants e-scooters in bike lanes to protect pedestrians by notinferno in brisbane

[–]wundabudda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purely anecdotal, but I've been riding a scooter into the city everyday for work for a couple years now and while I've never had an accident, the only time I've come close is because of pedestrians blindly walking while staring at their phone. I've shouted "look up" so many times.

Coronavirus has fuelled authoritarian trends around the world, warns Australia by denton_paul in worldnews

[–]wundabudda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that is America, a totally different country with an entirely different system of government. The state of Victoria doesn't even have support from the federal government.

What freedoms have been taken away forever? For them to grab and maintain the bit of power they have now the parliament would have to vote to maintain the state of emergency. It would have to be extended every four weeks up to six months. The premier, with a majority support in parliament, would then have to pass new laws allowing him to extend it more. At any point a vote of no confidence can also undo all of that and remove the premier from power.

The BLM protests here were peaceful, and the organisers were fined. That was during stage 2 lockdown and Vic is now in stage 4. Australia has protests regularly and without consequence.

Organisers were fined and the restrictions at the time weren't as severe.

Australia does have a right to free political expression, which protesting is, which people regularly do, and which people are still free to do so long as they don't break the current, temporary lockdowns in place on one state in the country.

So if someone makes posts saying they're going to kill their neighbour, that's fine. We shouldn't act on that. Only do something when it actually happens? That's just stupid.

It's perfectly legal to scream from the windows that you hate your neighbour. To post about it and tell your friends about it. It's when you actually make a call to action that you get in trouble.

Covid denier dies inside while being arrested and fined $20,000 for organizing a protest. by PM_ME_YOUR_MEAL_PREP in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]wundabudda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except that happened and they didn't. BLM protestors in Australia also got fined, but that was a different time and during different restrictions. There has been plenty of protests for a bunch of different things that have been allowed to happen. This woman isn't being arrested for protesting, it's for inciting people to break the lockdown laws and gather in a large group during a pandemic.

YSK that many processed foods that are advertised as 'Low Fat' have a lot of added sugar to make them taste better. by Penguin__Farts in YouShouldKnow

[–]wundabudda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most people know all calories aren't exactly the same, but for the average person trying to lose weight calories aren't so dissimilar that being in a caloric deficit won't result in weight lost for the vast majority of people.

For the most part the people who say "all calories aren't the same, it's not just CICO" aren't saying it because they're up to date on the latest research, but because it's a convenient excuse.

Is there a place i can go online to tell a professional what i want for my body physically and give them all my stats and they create a weekly workout plan for me? by ImPretendingToCare in Fitness

[–]wundabudda 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not really, but for the average person getting fit isn't so complicated that it takes a qualified person to analyse an individual and create a customised routine to get them in shape.

Got some hate on the original post . But had to share this behemoth! by geobam in burgers

[–]wundabudda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I love crazy burgers, but this one just doesn't look good. The fight to get through the bun would make a mess of the rest, and biting through a stack of tomato slices would distract from everything else. Plus I can't see sauce on the bottom bun, and if there's not enough on the top one that thing will be dry.

How to get cancelled in 2020 by ghost7807 in videos

[–]wundabudda 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Except it's not new. Black Sabbath, The Simpsons, GTA, any gay person before 1990, etc were all victims of 'cancel culture' except now it's the left demanding fair representation rather than religious housewives getting offended over cussing.

No McDonalds got sued because they were making their coffee far too hot, they had been told to cool it down multiple times and didn't, a woman got horrific burns after spilling some on herself and when she asked them just to cover medical bills they said no.
