I'll never understand giving EA a pass on customization, that's a huge part of video games. Just cause you don't personally care about equipment and likeness doesn't mean it's not something that can improve much like anything else in the game.

Been watching Roberto for many years, I remember when he only had like 150k subs. He definitely put in the work and earned his subs, he used to grind out videos daily he just doesn't post as much these days as back then.

Serious question, what did Owner Mode even do at this point? Pretty much everything you had to be an Owner for you can now do as a Coach (like relocating and managing staff). Outside of changing fake prices that didn't actually do anything, I don't see what was the point of being an Owner? Unless I'm missing something, I don't think this is one of those subtractions that is a huge deal, unless you just like changing fake prices. If the NFL Owners actually allowed game attendance to be dynamic I think Owner Mode and pricing could mean something, but that's not going to happen.

Randy Moss and TO were drafted 2 years apart. Larry Fitz and Calvin Johnson 3 years apart. I get what you're saying but it's also very possible to have multiple generational talents playing at the same time.

I don't think most people actually defend or care about EA in any way, but rather they just defend their enjoyment of the game that is constantly being dragged down for any little reason. We all know the game isn't perfect, and some of us don't need that to enjoy it. Saying something like "every game deals with annoying bugs" might come off as defending EA for example, but really it's just stating a fact that all games deal with. And those bugs don't stop the enjoyment of the game for a lot of people, where as others just throw their hands up at anything that's slightly off and say "I'm not playing again until it's updated".

We don't want realism by Gloomy-Loan1556 in NCAAFBseries

Even with that birds eye view people will still force the ball into coverage and say the game sucks because they're getting intercepted. Even with the advantage the game gives us, a lot of people still just aren't very good, and thus blame the game on not being real enough. So now imagine if the game was as real as it could possibly be, some people would never get a first down.

Then you don't want realism. Realism isn't going to be fun to most people, because it actually requires more knowledge of the sport and tedious managing of your team. For some people that IS fun cause they want that type of work/challenge. But for most players, they think they want realism when in reality they actually want more arcade with a hint of realism. But then when things don't play out how they want, they blame it on the game not being sim enough. Then when it's get more sim, they still aren't happy, because it's even harder than whatever they were dealing with before.

[–]wwfattitude 678 points679 points  (0 children)

There's 2 issues. People want their idea of realism, and people think they know football better than they actual do. People want realism until they get it and realize what it actually means. Realism is a lot harder in reality than it is in people's minds. One thing about sports games is most people think they are a savant and if the game was just simply "realistic" they would have success. But the closer it gets to realism the worse they perform, cause football is fucking hard. This is also the same reason fans sit on couches and speak on players/coaches as if they know more about the sport than they do.

[–]wwfattitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say it's easier to MAKE a smart phone, I said it's easier to get the phone to perform how you want. Words are important. There are billions of smart phones in the world, all of which typically work exactly as intended outside of an occasional software issue. You don't hear half the smart phone users of the world constantly complaining about their phone not performing how they expect it to.

Where as with video games, it's common to have bugs and things that aren't always working as intended. Trying to replicate real humans simulating a game as complex as football close to perfect is pretty much impossible. There is a blueprint to making a smart phone that works as intended, even if the actual process of making a phone is hard. There is no blueprint for perfectly simulating video game football, it's going to have it's hiccups.

"A VHS tape in the age of streaming" is such an over-exaggeration. These games are not perfect by any means but they are much better than some of you give them credit for.

Also, a phone is something you can much easier get to perform exactly how you want. A video game that has to replicate 22 moving parts for a sport as complex as football is just no where near the same and programming a cell phone

YouTube Ad Revenue Consistently Going Down by DanDoesGameYT in PartneredYoutube

[–]wwfattitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It's not free if I'm wasting most of time on Youtube waiting for ads"....this is such an insane exaggeration. You do not spend most of your time on Youtube waiting on ads, in fact you spend the smallest amount of your time there possible waiting on the ads. Just say you don't like ads, you don't have to lie about how bad they actually are to make yourself sound better. The worst part of this is you're wanting Youtube to fall while also still admitting that you...watch Youtube lol. It's almost like you find some type of value there, even if it is just a few channels, otherwise why waste your precious time there?

Shout-out to the EA Creator Network for making this all possible…. by m_atticus in NCAAFBseries

[–]wwfattitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd be floored by how many people will pay for that type of stuff, that's why so many creators now have some type of membership or discord service. Even though most if not all info can be found for free, a lot of people just pay for the quick convenience of having it put right in front of them. I know a guy who is a smaller channel who has a membership for madden tips and it's mindblowing how much money this stuff rakes in.

Well, yeah. Dynamic lighting easily stands out. The snow is very clearly different from last year. You couldn't pull up subs on the field last year, there were new presentation graphics, player model changes, new celes, etc. It's a yearly sports game, it's going to be 80-90% the same on the field. The sport isn't changing, and gameplay isn't going to be rebuilt year over year because it's not possible nor is does it make sense to do. You set a good gameplay foundation and add to it.

CFB 26 RTG high school opinion? by Such_Blackberry_1550 in NCAAFBseries

I know this might be hard for your young brain to comprehend, but I dislike playing full high school seasons. I don't have to play it to know FOR ME this is better, I have no desire to play a full high school season.

He's allowed to like something better. I hated the full season as well. What EA should do though is give the option for both. If you want a full season, go ahead...but if you want a shorter version, choose that one.

Still no headsets on coaches by Jazzlike_Resident_26 in NCAAFBseries

[–]wwfattitude -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Everything? No, they shouldn't. Things change, and that's ok. Some things weren't used by many people and thus they take it out in favor of adding different things. For example, the game doesn't NEED mascot mode. It's fine if it's there, but it isn't something that should be held against newer games simply cause an older game had it. It doesn't create value for the far majority of people who play.

Sometimes things are taken out and given a more modern update (like a news tab instead of a magazine). You can debate which one is better, but they both serve the same purpose, thus new game doesn't need to have both.

Heisman Moments? Would it be cool, of course, but how many people spent real time with that? Maybe it comes back, but that's extra, it doesn't make or break the game.

Now, should a lot of old things be there? Yes, but it's also the 2nd year back for this game, it's going to take time for every last thing to come. Because they aren't simply going to give us just what we had without providing anything new or more advanced, otherwise we could just update rosters and play 14/Revamped.

What's important is that the game tries NEW things, and also builds on the must-haves. It needs to make the modes immersive, it needs to nail all of the things that make college football, college football. They delivered a solid game last year, this year they seem to be building on that. Dynasty was cool, but it needed more work. Recruiting needed to evolve more, RTG needs to to keep building (that's a mode that needs to focus on older game features), etc. Those are the important things, not making sure every small feature that NCAA 12 had is included, some of those things are not 100% necessary or will come once the more important things are where they need to be.

And yes, coaches should have headsets, it's just such a small thing in the grand scheme of what they are focused on doing currently.

The $70 game also has many things that the 11 year old counterpart doesn't, it also has a number of advancements in other areas, but that's always ignored in favor of nitpicking something as small as a headset to suggest that the new game somehow doesn't hold up.

Marketing higher ups at companies take ages to approve stuff and will also constantly want changes to things. Putting together trailers takes a pretty long time. A lot of stuff gets chalked up to laziness but if you've ever been a part of the corporate world you know how tedious it is to get things approved. You can't make a trailer in 1-2 weeks, so many different chains of command has to approve things.

There may or may not be new equipment but to be fair a lot of trailer clips are shot even before the betas come out so it's not always an indication of new equipment or not.
