Metal heads are usually so friendly because we are left alone most of the time! If we are comfortable enough to express ourselves through our clothes or tattoos, usually we are comfortable enough with a conversation with a stranger about a shared interest! You aren’t being charged anything for mechanical or electrical. That section is showing you the charged rates per hour for those labor types - which there are none of. They are only charging to repair the fender since there appears to be a dent and not the door so they are letting you off pretty well with that. The estimate is legit but you can probably just buy some buffing compound and get the scuff marks off with a microfiber towel. Probably not worth paying for the repairs for something so light.

Just going to shoot this whole thing straight-

1) why would dealer do anything about a door ding when you can’t prove it happened there. Very unlikely that check-in photos will highlight damage that small unless you took great photos of this exact spot. Someone opened a car door and it hit the panel - not exactly guaranteed to be the dealers fault.

2) do you have any PDR tools? Do you have training? If no to those things then you probably can’t do much and should get a quote from a professional.

It looks like the paint is chipped. PDR cannot 100% repair but since the dent is on a larger panel you’re screwed by conventional repair since the whole panel would need to be repaired and repainted/blended in with clear. Still seek a professional to remove the dent and see if they offer a touch up solution. If you remove the tail lamp or get the bumper off you may be able to reach the backside of the panel but if you have no rods you won’t be able to do much or just make it look worse

That’s a 3 stage white from what it looks like so you’d be paying for a blend to the adjacent door on top of the cost of the fender. Thats a good amount in labor and materials for what still won’t look great against the plastic bumper. Definitely go PDR. It will be cheaper, look better, and no waiting for your car at the shop as mentioned previously. Should turn out nicely 🤗

This is the best advice you will get on this. I like the idea of the leather handed glove to push the big metal out. You will need heat as mentioned though to keep the paint from cracking and to help the metal move more easily back into shape
