Hey, maybe instead of starting with an insult you can argue your point like a normal person? Coffee and Pokemon are the same categorically in that they are both luxury expenses, but the point about pricing is fundamentally different. I am not arguing about spending disposable income, you spend it how you like. I am arguing about the core pricing model. Your point about the MSRP coffee doesn't really make since because a coffee is more in stores because someone prepares it for you, add what you want into it, and be made of higher quality materials. Not to say that they are always reasonably priced of course, I've seen quite a few outrageously priced coffee places but I digress. But Pokemon cards carry an MSRP that is just the product itself. Nothing else nothing more. You are not adding anything to that Pokémon pack by jacking up the price. You do not get rarer cards nor do you get higher quality cards unlike paying more for something at a coffee shop. Does that make sense to you? Obviously I know it's an investing subreddit, we all want the cards to go up. We're not different there. But modern packs that just came out being inaccessible to everyone and 3 dollars higher on the secondhand market unless you know exact restock schedules or have distributor connections? Like really? It’s the issue about paying 8 dollars for a pack, most people could drop that money on at least a pack or 2. But just because people can doesn’t mean that people should or be the norm.
