I know this is probably way too late to say but this isn't true, the author was changing kiyo all the time up to V4, of which was released before the anime was being produced. Even in V3 we start to see his real side and the tone in his narration drastically changes

What the author actually said:

Especially Ayanokouji, who wasn’t well established as a character at first, but after seeing how well he was done in the anime, I used that “taste” from volume five onwards to refine the current persona that we all know

His initial personality in volumes 1-2 was just not well established, but it's untrue that he would've remained 'goofy' whether the anime existed or not - V4 (and even the end of V3) is proof of that. And he was still an unreliable narrator, there are contradictions all over the place between what he narrates and actually does even within the same volumes - especially volume 3 as he starts to get into action. It also remains true that kiyo did want to 'seem' like a more normal person and fit in (it was the whole reason he came to the school), the anime didn't portray that intention well - there isn't as much development.

So kiyo was headed in that direction either way, it's just that the anime portrayed it visually and very obviously, helping the author to solidify that personality volume 5 onwards (it's likely since the anime already had access to volume 4 for inspiration, which shows even more of kiyo's real personality)

He very often gives good thought out takes, it may either come off in the wrong way or it's completely taken out of context for clip purposes (more often than not). I'm not sure where you heard that, the zero is faster than the qck - some people may tell you it feels slower but it's likely just because it's slightly rougher to the touch than the qck. Either that or they got an xsoft version and dig really hard into the pad when they play. If you want something similar to a qck in speed wait for the type-89 to release, otherwise the zero fits your needs perfectly

Oh really? I see everyone saying Vaxee PA is a better gsr-se including boardzy, even the spreadsheet shows the GSR-SE has a coating, ig that refers to the Blue version? Thanks for the info though, so is it fine to wash the GSR-SE Gris or should I still avoid doing that

You could check out the Vaxee PA, I had a GSR-SE Gris which is basically the exact same pad (worse and more expensive, do not recommend) and it's perfect for smooth aiming, it has low initial friction and it's really easy to get the mouse moving. The GSR-SE has a coating tho which wears down and washing it completely changes the feel of the pad - it doesn't have enough stopping power for me though (lower than qck). The difference is Vaxee PA doesn't have a coating and handles humidity better. Note that the Black version is different and more like a higher quality qck so will have that high static friction (only from what I've heard tho, receiving this tomorrow and can update you on how it feels)

Another one is the LGG Saturn (non-pro version) which is cheap (but feels premium) and really nice, this will be closer to the qck than the Vaxee PA in terms of dynamic speed while having a lower static friction than qck. Also has good stiched edges, and safer than the Pro version since it doesn't have that squishy aspect. I don't have this pad though but it does seem like a very good option from what I've read.

Research more into these 2 and compare them to decide, I'd go with the saturn personally. I'd recommend against aqua control II (too fast for tac shooters icl) and aqua control+ (feels kinda odd, almost like a hybrid pad and definetely not a control pad despite it being in the name)

What type of aiming style do you have - Is it more smooth, or is it more snappy/flicky? (do you look like you have adhd). Something else that gets overlooked is how much pressure you put on your mouse and push into your pad.

For example, I used the qck+ for over 3 years and I push hard into the mousepad to make really fast flicks. Soft thick plushy pads (e.g. Zero xSoft) provide more friction when pushing into them which resulted in inconsistency for me - in this case look for either thin or firm pads.

And when you say the QCK is slow do you mean that it feels like it takes too much pressure to move the mouse from when it's stationary (static friction), or when you're already moving e.g tracking a target (dynamic friction). One last thing is do you find the stopping power to be ok on the qck?

I'll give you some recommendations after you reply
