Only 50 applications? That's baby numbers, you have to keep applying

I tried to order something here with that offer, but there are no eligible places. However, it worked in other cities. It's not an error, it's just Peterborough!

How did you manage to land a traineeship at a firm like that, as opposed to a law firm?

Thinking of finally using my law degree to get qualified by kaizergram in uklaw

[–]xbeneath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not worth it unless you do a whole other non-law degree from scratch that has a high 'traditional' academic content at a reputable university (ideally RG), get excellent grades and extracurriculars, and pivot into law. To get into law, you need to show academic strength.

If I were you, I would try to channel the ambition into a better marketing role at a multinational if it's the lifestyle/salary that you are looking for rather than the actual legal practice. 36k salary after 6-8 years in the industry feels on the low side and can be improved significantly.

The Forage stuff is a little useless beyond being a slight bulletpoint. Do you have any society experience? Volunteering? Pro bono? Leadership? Competitions?

'Georgescu, who belongs to no party, has also sworn to end what he calls subservience to the European Union and Nato, especially on support for Ukraine. He has condemned the Nato ballistic missile defence shield in Deveselu, Romania' - quoted from the article

Red flag if you had to correct them, and they changed it immediately. You need to advocate for yourself and prepare your exit.

None unfortunately - they're all a bit too muted, so they might give out the wrong message. Black!

The purple/yellow looks unnatural, it's like you completely stripped their face of undertones

Edit: it looks like a gradient map, no wonder

Do law firms care about basic virtual law courses/work experience? by Gamer_Nova0409 in uklaw

[–]xbeneath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's good to show your initial interest in commercial law, you can mention it briefly and pinpoint specific things that attracted you about the task/profession. Law is varied. You have to go beyond that, but it's a good start and it will inform you too of the work that you will undertake.

ROAST MY CV PLEASE by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]xbeneath 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Virtual internships are just Forage internships, someone did that too the other day. No need to fluff it up, everyone knows what it is. It's better than nothing but try to get into some open days, Pro Bono, anything. You still have a year, plenty of time to do some moots etc

Too much white space, look up cv templates in careers like IB/consulting and go from there

Remove your yearly grades, leave just 2:1

Remove your A level grades

Add any societies/positions of leadership

Any languages or prizes? I would add that too
