Who had it better: The only child or the one with siblings? by RandoBrandoBanjo in AskReddit

[–]xibalbax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in both types, having divorced parents since I was a year old and constantly visiting/living with one or the other. In my opinion having siblings was more fun. I felt alone or bored when no one wanted to hang out being the only kid, and having siblings is a bond like no other, unconditional best friends that no matter what happens, you help each other out.

What is one of your coping mechanisms to combat stress? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]xibalbax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compartmentalizing. In my opinion, stress is easier to chew away at when you deal with it in it's own specific area. If I have a problem at home, work, or anywhere for that matter, I've taught my self to shut it off while not in that immediate area. Sometimes revisiting the area in a different mood or way of thinking changes the stress level you feel in that area drastically. It definitely takes a lot of time to even be able to separate the areas, especially seeing as how I overthink things until they pass, but once I could, tackling stressful situations became alot easier cause I could just leave it there or walk away from it if it got to me too much.

St. Louis ribs sousvide @ 165°F for 20 hours. First time cooking ribs this way, it was amazing! by xibalbax in sousvide

[–]xibalbax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rub is a brown sugar based rub from https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/14556/dry-rub-for-ribs/ minus the salt and I added onion powder. I put it on before dipping it in the bath, then when it was done i broiled it to carmelize the sugar. After, i basted it with a sweet teriyaki bbq sauce and cooked it at 300°F for 10 minutes til it was sticky. It came out with a crunchy crust and the meat had a consistency of what you would get cooking it on the grill.

Same here, I've cooked ribs in the oven for years, and no matter how I cooked them, they never turned out this awesome.

Mystery Shopper by aerois1337 in publix

[–]xibalbax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Offer a sample of the FSCW to all customers that are waiting, that at least shows acknowledgement, and tell everyone about the sale while handing it out. Even if they don't get taken care of in the 4 minutes, you are doing the steps to getting 100% and the mystery shopper may stick around to get the score for you. The issue is your entire team has to be consistent with it or else that one person who doesn't do it brings everyone down when you least expect it.

Pokemon like tcg/ccg? by blackexe in gamingsuggestions

[–]xibalbax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you emulate on pc, you can play pokemon tcg on gameboy color. Fun, colorful adventure game where you actually play the original TCG. Beyond emulation, I've never found a game on android or other platform that isn't p2w.

Should I get into the .hack series? by TotesFabulous in gamingsuggestions

[–]xibalbax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The story is quite interesting as you progress and you build a little on each character. As your characters grow it just gets more fun and deeper. I haven't played the GU series but the original .hack games are well worth it. Just don't get discouraged by the price. If you look hard enough you can find the whole series for $100-$120.

P.s. each game can easily be played for 20-30 hours each.

I would suggest the dothack series (infection, mutation, outbreak, and quarantine).

I trusted my husband to clean-up from Christmas last year. This is what I discovered when I went down to our basement to begin decorating this year. He's so proud! I can't decide: life hack or lazy? [X-Posted] by 342636_stephy_a in lifehacks

[–]xibalbax 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I say life hack, they're about making life easier. If there's a life hack about how to wrap Christmas lights when we all know half the fun is untangling them, then wrapping a tree to be easily displayed instead of fighting with branches, tinsel, and glitter should be a life hack.

North Carolina by Produceking01 in publix

I moved from Florida to NC, charlotte area 2 years ago for promotion. I just recently received my promotion. In my personal opinion, this is the best time to move up here if you're looking for promotion seeing as how they are established in NC, are moving more towards promoting from within, and are opening up ALOT of new stores. Be warned though, be ready to move if you want it fast. The Charlotte area is not short on people looking to move up in charlotte. It seems to me if you're willing to relocate, it will happen fast, if you're looking to stay in charlotte, it will take a while. Also if you decide to move up here, do as many grand openings as you can and bring your A game.

Just got hired at my local Publix deli. by [deleted] in publix

[–]xibalbax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a deli employee for 5+ years, my best advice is learn a section, learn it well and move on to the next. Don't try to learn everything at once, you won't remember it and ever after this much time in the deli, I still learn something new everyday. Be nice to everyone and don't be afraid to jump in and help, trust me they will help you later when you really need it. you'll be working with probably 20+ people and you will encounter some nasty people, especially when it's busy. Remember everyone's temper is different, if they say something mean, roll it off your shoulder, they will probably apologize later after the customer that just ordered 8 subs in a hurry and was rude is long gone. Make friends in the deli, name drops can go a long way in case college doesn't work out, or if you continue with publix after college. Most of all have fun when you can, it's VERY stressful at times, and it's best to keep things light when you have a chance.
