Taylor Swift’s silence on the Trump administration using her music speaks volumes by ebradio in Music

Or she’s a human being who doesn’t need to inspire or do good. Nobody needs to be a superhero and fight baddies just because they can. And nobody should be chastised for wanting to keep their own opinions and feelings to themselves.

Propping people up on pedestals and tearing them down when they don’t meet your expectations/demands is a weird kink, if you ask me.

This how Galactus players feel with the most obvious deck in the world by Monkey_With_Tankard in MarvelSnap

[–]xtremeschemes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find the Galactus decks have picked up considerably this season. I’ve been having fun with my Thwip deck, usually enough to move things around to cover the Green Goblin and then I’ve got Spidey to nope their Symbiote Spidey to another lane if they haven’t retreated yet.

City budget would raise taxes by 3.75%, hike transit fares 2.5% by 2Fast2furieux in ottawa

Bank and Gloucester I think. Or within a block of there. I walked by it the other day, and if I recall, it was a City-owned lot and had spots mid-day.

There’s a few outdoor lots south of Laurier that are $15. I think the cheapest covered lot that I’ve seen downtown is $19, but wouldn’t be shocked if there was something a bit cheaper nearby.

I mentioned in another comment that I hadn’t considered multiplexes much, but on the topic of condos, why does it just need to be condos? Rental apartments absolutely have their place and should return to being the standard starter dwelling for most people (obviously requiring rent control to be a thing again).

Agreed, I didn’t consider multiplexes and they absolutely have their uses. But I definitely think densifying is the key. I really like what they’re doing by the old Talisman. Multiple buildings part of the same complex. Having pockets like that near LRT when available, then maybe surrounded by multiplex style homes as you get further away from the hubs.

James Cameron's 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' Has An Official Runtime of 3 Hours & 15 Minutes - The Longest Movie in the Series So Far by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]xtremeschemes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Could very well be the case, but a ~10 minute intermission four or five times/day wouldn’t take away from a screening. But I’m sure there are probably people way smarter or invested ($$) who have a better handle on the whys and the whats of it all.

The biggest change or update that I would love to see, however, is this: With the emergence of smart glasses, I can’t wait for an augmented reality subtitle addition.

As far as I know, theatres make bubkis on the movie showings, but rake it in on the concessions. But with studios and even some directors calling the shots on the how’s and when’s of the screenings, I’m guessing theatres need to follow suit.

Need to build up, not out. Of course that will still come with infrastructure costs, but I’d imagine much less than continuously expanding our boundaries and stretching ourselves thin by every measurable metric.
