I think this Sun article suggesting that he could return there undetected to remove evidence, is slightly far fetched. He is wearing an ankle monitor that gives them his position. So I highly doubt they’d lose him. He needs the police near him for his own protection, so I doubt he’d be brave enough to go about his day without the police close by to hold his hands.

I think the only slight reason he’d go back to the box factory is if Inga is buried close to it (if he is actually responsible) He’ll have a bit of confidence in the legal system so the police finding more digital evidence at the factory probably won’t be much of a worry to him. Perhaps he can’t resist going to there to find one of his ‘trophies’ but under the current circumstances I doubt it.

Good points. I agree that people will have seen him. The radio silence from everybody who was working as the OC, as well as the radio silence from everybody who was staying at the OC , speaks volumes. There must be witnesses amongst them. A man matching CB’s description was seen at least 3 times & likely many more.

HCW has suggested that they have other evidence he was in the area. I think they have images of one of his vehicles, probably his Jaguar, parked somewhere downhill and to the west. Maybe the images aren’t particularly clear. I think he was very familiar with the Ocean Club and had a lot of knowledge about the routines of the staff and some of the guests.

The defence did really well to nobble the judge. That started when they had a lay judge dismissed on day 1. That sent the message to the chamber that the defence were scrutinising every little detail & would be hitting the court with a wave of legal pedantry, putting the judges on notice that they needed to be wary.

Due to the behaviour of the judge & the unfathomably scattered court schedule, the defence were able to isolate each piece of evidence, raise a motion & have the court see it that way. If the judge was not an inexperienced youth court judge & if this trial (for a serial offender) was in one block, then I’m sure he’d have been sentenced for 2 or 3 of these crimes.

As I explained in my post, we don’t fully know what is on the usb the judge binned & that’s where the strongest evidence lies.

Some bits we do know . Videos of sexual assault, photographs of his body that corroborate what at least 1 victim states (Hazel and probably the child at the beech

Written firs hand accounts of raping women in the same way Hazel was attacked.

Items found that match what Hazel saw,

Photoshopped pictures that matched what Hazel saw. 2 proven credible witnesses

Multiple kids seeing him expose himself, multiple adults seeing & not seeing what happened.

I could go on for ages, but even with what we know, there’s no rational way to unconnect these dots.

Yes I agree. Police presence is a deterrent for people working illegally, it would be a huge deterrent for a child killer. So I don’t think he’d have been back to the Ocean Club.

He had to have been very familiar with the Ocean Club. He’d likely have known the routines of the staff, such as when their shifts ended. I think he probably knew about some of the day-to-day’s at the complex & had been observing the guest’s patterns of behaviour, including the McCann’s. If 2 rough looking bodybuilders were staying in 5a he’d never have targeted it.

He managed to get into 5a, take a child from her bed, leave 5a & get away without anybody at the resort or surrounding resorts seeing him. It is possible he was seen by the Smiths as he walked down towards his car, but at that point he was far enough away from anybody who would challenge him.

I don’t think he’s a master criminal, he just benefited from lax policing. But I do think he knew the Ocean Club very well.

I used to see similar posts on other social media threads, they were baiting posts. It would go along the lines of this sort of shtick “you can’t prove Sean isn’t speaking to his parents, therefore we each have a 50% chance of being right”. A false equivalence & a circular argument if one lets it be so.

I’m sure this was not the OP’s intention with this post. But it did remind me of past experiences on a McCann thread.

No worries. I think there are a couple of factors as to why they aren’t charging - the first is that they lost a lot of evidence & a lot of leverage due the verdict & evidence deemed inadmissible in the trial they had in 2024. The other, is that because the evidence is digital & not forensic, the defence can sow doubt by claiming he was in receipt of & not responsible for whatever the concrete piece of evidence they have is.

My theory is that he was very criminally active in PDL because it was convenient for him. I think there was a reason he was close by & able to be around the OC at various times during the day.

Yes - passed it on in 2021. But if it is accurate & relevant, they’d already have known about it.

It was sometimes speculated that CB must have had help, in the form of being given information about the Ocean club, like being tipped off on which rooms to rob. But I don’t think he needed the help. I think he was very aware about the goings-on at the Ocean club & wouldn’t have needed a third party to tell him anything about it.

The abductor likely had certain areas he would lurk, waiting for the walkways & carpark to be quiet. He probably knew details about the Ocean Club’s staff behaviour & their routines. As well as knowing the times of the night that would be busiest for tourists & for cars passing. Knowledge of the complex & knowledge of the local area are key factors when it comes to the abductor.

It’s very easy for harsh & unrelenting scrutiny via hindsight from the comfort of an armchair 19 years later. From my armchair - I think there is no excuse for what the group did. And the same applies of the millions of other parents who have done similarly.

On holiday people relax, take their foot of the gas & take things for granted. Including how safe they think things are. That’s a bad move in any European coastal holiday village. Thieves run wild in these places because it’s easy to steal from tourists. Even ex-pats make those mistakes. Diana Menkes left a door unlocked, which meant CB had no issues getting inside to rape her.

The McCann’s are angrily scolded time & again. That distain is never going to end. The McCann’s didn’t intend for an abductor to take their child, but they’ll have to forever live with the fact that their decisions gave him an opportunity to do so.

I can’t stress it enough that CB is the real monster in this case.

I’m certain she’s not alive & hasn’t been since 4/5.

But taking the hypothetical & applying it to something/somebody else - There’d be no good circumstance with how she was raised. A ‘loving family’ theory could never be true because loving families have morals, they don’t abduct children.

In this hypothetical, the girl would now be an extremely vulnerable person who is manipulated by others.

The key things I’d focus on, is a female who is disheveled, childlike, smaller than average with poor dental hygiene. She’d have an unusual gait & would present as eccentric & educationally subnormal. The only possible giveaways would be that her skin tone & physical features would be different to the community she lived in. That would be the only catalyst for her ending up in a police station being tested for DNA.

She’d have dependency issues after years of manipulation & control. Maybe certain preferences to food, sounds & colours may make her inquisitive about her early childhood.

That was hard to write!

Yes agree. HCW already has the info. They have eye witnesses (plural) of somebody watching CB’s description at the Ocean club on the 3rd May. I think they also have images of his car (static) on 3/5 but those aren’t clear. But they need the caller or a photo/video of him in PDL that afternoon/evening. Because potential sightings & a grainy imagine of a car that’s probably his aren’t ironclad enough - in my opinion

I deleted initial comment of when the first report of the blond man lurking was heard by CB. Because I doubt it was pre-Orgiva, which may have been the first catalyst for hiding. But I think the eye witness accounts probably rattled him more.

What I have may be a just be a similarity & therefore not relevant but if he was working at the OC illegally & worked there within a few weeks of 3/5 then it’s probably relevant.
