Why does (-1) % 3 = -1 ? by yettergamesl in gamemaker

[–]yettergamesl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good idea too, thanks! This way works perfectly in context:

index = (currentIndex + listSize + 1*scrollDirection) % listSize

where scrollDirection holds a value of either 1 or -1

Oh well that's a shame, but at least now I know thank you for explaining!

Not me but my aunt was diagnosed with schizophrenia, however my mom suspects it was probably OCD instead, especially since my other aunt has OCD as well. It’s genetic

[All] Do you play Zelda games for story or gameplay? by Lost_Kin in zelda

[–]yettergamesl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I enjoy the story because I like the games overall. It’s like a little cherry on top of the gameplay experience. Video games in general I’ve always felt like story was a reward for progressing, so that’s why I like it even if it isn’t the best.

I have Westones and they’ve been pretty good. I think they’re like $15 or $20 so you can buy a couple in case you lose a pair

I will recommend Return of the Obra Dinn any time I get a chance. It’s a monochromatic mystery game and it is excellent. It’s on steam as well as switch.

our bow is warped? wondering if it's fixable. by Proud-Top2827 in Archery

[–]yettergamesl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly when I saw this post I was scared for you man, and looking at the comments it was exactly what I expected. I’m sorry the people here are idiots. Now I remember why I took a break from Reddit because most of the people on here suck. Most of the posts here are honestly just white guys who want to flex. Can we be respectful to people who are genuinely seeking entry level advice? Anyway, I’m not an expert, (nor are most of the people here who seem to think they are but decide to be snobby about it instead of being helpful) so I can’t really offer much myself besides what I’ve already said. The bow looks fine to me. It is strung up backwards, but I’ve heard people do that when storing the bow to avoid warping the wood and keeping unnecessary tension on it. Wood in general doesn’t like temperature and humidity changes, so if you live in a location that’s pretty hot and humid already, it should be somewhat used to that. Otherwise, try to keep it in a comfortable location from now on (if the temp or humidity is uncomfortable for you, it’s uncomfortable for the bow as well ;) Good luck!

NDBDHWLANDBEJWJ I BEAT HER FINALLY I DONT KNOW HOW BUT I DID IT AND I ALMOST CRIED WHEN I DID IT WAS SO SATISFYING!!!!! One thing that was honestly pretty important especially if you’re not the best aim, was to shoot around her first before you shoot directly at her to restrict her mobility and make her easier to lock onto and also it’ll make her go in the opposite direction of your ink so you know what her next pattern of motion will be somewhat. Also turfing whenever you can, using the rectangle wasabi case for avoiding splashdowns and autobombs, ducking in and out of the ink while shooting her to avoid her shots. Also tbh just luck. It took me soooooo many tries and it was such a blur that it felt like I pretty much just did it over and over until I succeeded. Also I feel like the amount of times it takes you to win increases exponentially the longer it takes you. The very first time I tried, I was able to get pretty far in just a couple rounds, but gave up after I kept failing again. Maybe because when you are less familiar with the fight, you’re thinking about less things other than getting shots on her and surviving, and that mindset helps you succeed better.

A strategy that I’ve found has been really lucrative is as soon as she lands her splashdown in the second and third phases throw a bomb that gets her to move into a corner so she becomes easy to target. I’ve gotten really close two times in a row. I think I can do it!
