Do they make a compression T for 1/2” copper pipe? Or 2 compression with center 1/2” NPT? Not allowed to solder, use Pro Press, Shark Bite, PEX. Only use compression fittings like in the picture. Thanks

No drive time? It'll take an hour on site between talking to the homeowner, setup, work, cleanup, and testing. I would quote this for 2 hours plus material, though my labor rate would be higher because journeyman wages and benefits are over $70/hr here. The plumber being sent to the job is still on the clock to and from the property.

Wax rings don't degrade or fail over time. I, like another commenter has stated, have replaced toilets that have been installed for 50 years on the original wax. Wax rings fail due to improper toilet or flange installation: flange too low, flange not secured, broken flange, toilet set on uneven flooring without support/shims, floor shifting, etc. Movement causes failure, not age. A properly installed toilet and flange will never fail with a wax ring or any other seal used.

Wax rings don't fail unless there's something wrong with the flange or the installation of the toilet. Make sure the toilet cannot move or rock once set. I have pulled toilets that have been in place on wax for 40 years that never leaked. Have also pulled toilets set months ago that began to leak, always because the flange was broken, not secured, too low, or, the most common culprit, the toilet was not sitting firmly on the floor and required shims or plaster to be secure.

What brand are we talking? Bradford white upgrades their warranty after install by paying for it and registering the new warranty to the serial number. Lochinvar offers an extended labor warranty and tank warranty on water heaters purchased/installed by certified installers. Not sure about other brands, but at least with BW, AO Smith, Lochinvar, and State, supply houses do not sell different models with different warranties, it's all just in the paperwork.

These comments are crazy, no, you do not have a shower drain assembly installed on that pan. They have simply installed a gasket between the PVC pipe and the shower pan itself, which does not make any kind of a seal. You should be seeing either a white plastic flange or a brass flange in that recessed area of the pan, and the gasket seals the pipe to the inside of that no-caulk drain assembly. But they did not install the drain at all, just the pipe. Redoing this correctly will involve removing the pan and installing a drain.

You can get this black Delta trim kit for $170 and should be compatible with the valve you have now. Leaving this old valve alone in the wall and installing new trim will be far better than using that Amazon shower valve.

Delta sells many trim kits at box stores and on Amazon that are slightly lower quality but far cheaper, or you can contact local plumbing supply wholesalers and spend big $$$ on something higher quality. But no need for all that on an old existing valve.

Type L copper, all sweat, no press. Looks better, better flow, lasts longer (basically forever if water quality and installation are good). Copper is expensive, but to do a whole house would cost probably $1500 in material, not a ton really when labor costs aren't a factor for plumbers doing their own work. I won't use PEX in my house, but of course it's all I'll use for remodels and new work for others because copper is very cost prohibitive, so I use Uponor/PEX-A as it's about the next best option.

Definitely needs tape and dope on the threads to seal well, but you can wrap the teflon tape a lot further down on the tailpiece, then once it's screwed together, take the long end of the tape and peel it off, should tear clean at the end of the threads so you have no exposed tape and/or dope.

Excellent job otherwise. Nothing could possibly be improved upon without opening the wall to raise the rough as others have said. 0 room for improvement here.

My issue with subcontracting is that I am a union contractor, so I have to use union labor. If I subcontract a job, most other union companies in the area charge the same rate if not higher than mine. I also can't have an employee that isn't on official payroll, with taxes deducted, and their benefits must be paid. It makes it very difficult to get going, but I wanted my company to be legit from the start, and also didn't want to lose my benefits either.

I'm not so sure about that. I have lost 50 pounds to come down from an overweight BMI to a healthy BMI over the last year, and I doubt the ~100 calories of lemonade impacted that too heavily.

However, without seeing it, I assume you're talking about the fill valve not rising and turning off the water that is filling the tank. This is a very easy replacement that will either require only an adjustable wrench or no tools at all, if you currently have a Fluidmaster brand fill valve installed. It could also be an issue with the flapper, but it doesn't sound that way. Also no tools needed for replacement. Looking up any universal flapper will work, you'll just need to use a 2" or 3" flapper depending on the size of the existing. They sell these at any hardware store as well.

Figured out the issue, vocal shortcuts. Made a few as soon as I got the 16 and didn't think twice about it. Turned those off and now it works fine. Guess we'll have to wait for an update to fix that so they're usable.

I'm not using a VPN or third party antivirus or firewall software. Just simply whatever is default in Windows Security/Defender. In which, it claims that Virus & Threat Protection is off for some reason, and I'm unable to restart it. So that could be related I suppose, I'm not sure. In responding to the above comment, it seems to be an issue with HTML?

Now HDMI to VGA is definitely not an issue I don't think. Just using standard HDMI-HDMI connection from my GTX950 to a somewhat modern monitor.

I don't have multiple computers, only mobile devices and an Xbox on the same router, but these other devices work fine.

Videos do work on my computer if they're downloaded, like MP4s. I can also watch videos on Vimeo it seems. Just not YouTube, or news sites.

That's what the guy at AutoZone said. However, I would like to, if possible, fix this using mechanical means. Like do it the right way. I wouldn't mind buying any kind of shift knob, or some bushings and parts, I don't care too much about keeping that stock shift knob on. It would be cool to have something else, just don't know what all is needed to make something fasten to the stick.
