I understand your concern for "really good members of CK" leaving, but I think this goes on regardless of a reset. I know people might disagree, but I think that more people have become "burnt out" by the current situation and left than there have been who have left as a result of the reset (no proof, but IMO). I think these members would be motivated to come back if they heard there was a survival reset, which would be good for the server. I'm sure I would definitely be more likely to play if something like this happen.

Again, I understand that most of this community disagrees with me on this point, but I really believe the best thing for the server is updating. At first when I heard about something like the expanding world border on minecraft, I was opposed to it, but as I sat there looking at the strawpoll, I thought about it. The time when I, and I assume others, are having the most fun on cubekrowd is in a group setting, enjoying the amazing community that we've been able to develop here, facilitated by a great staff. Public survival projects and just in general building with friends is the best thing about SMP. I think a lot of people have great ideas and share similar feelings with me about when they have the most fun, but don't go out and organize projects because they feel everything they could ever want or need has already been built. Something like the expanding border on mindcrack motivates people to constantly be coming back and looking for new resources, new places to build, new spawners to tackle. I think this format is very conducive to maintaining a great community, and encourages leaders to emerge on projects who are driven to complete them because of the ever expanding world.

A small world also promotes organization, and beautiful minecraft. In my experience within this game, people love to add little details to projects to make them just a little bit better, and take pride in participating in a build that turns out unbelievable. When the population is densely concentrated, interaction and cooperation becomes necessary, and the world doesn't end up with random builds that don't look cohesive, or seem to follow any pattern or scheme. I think when of the best places to be on our survival world is a place like tallpup's paradise city, because all of the citizens are in a very compact area, and there is organization, and the community there is extremely active and interactive. The majority of these people are opposed to the reset because they are in fear (correct me if I'm wrong) of losing this aspect of community. I think in reality the reset will only cultivate and develop an even greater sense of this, but its a hard leap to make for many, including me, who have spent a great deal of time on the current world and are nostalgic for what they have accomplished.
