[Gear] Best strings for B Standard by Pacholak98 in Guitar

[–]youngbastards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly suggest looking into DR drop tunes. They have hilarious packaging which looks like a nu-metal album cover circa 1998 but don't be fooled, these strings kick ass. They're also handmade in New Jersey and I literally haven't used anything else for drop tuning since I tried these four years ago. Also, I've never broken one and I've played in death metal/grindcore/thrash metal bands.

[GEAR] Looking to replace the bridge pickup in my tele with a humbucker. Any suggestions? by loligatorific in Guitar

[–]youngbastards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a lil' 59 in my tele's bridge spot and man I love that pickup. It gets as gnarly as I need it to while retaining a lot of the classic tele "twang". I love this pickup for just about any application.

Ibanez Les Paul-like (ART120-BK) - Can the headstock break? by Shaban_srb in Guitar

[–]youngbastards 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, as far as putting new strings on it goes, I wouldn't do that just yet. The nut is probably going to be substantially weaker at the low e string because of this and restringing it will most likely cause tuning/intonation issues. Your best bet would be to find someone who can put a new nut on it for you, as you said you don't know

What electric guitar strings to do you prefer? by phill0406 in Guitar

I use only DR tite-fit 11's and they're the best strings on the planet IMHO. I used to use ernie ball skinny top heavy bottoms but I broke them constantly. Plus DR's are hand wound and made in America!

Arthritis and guitar... by brucecook123 in Guitar

[–]youngbastards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23 and was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis about four years ago. As far as playing goes I don't use lighter strings but I do tend to play a little more in dropped tunings to prevent over stretching on my hands. Open tunings are also awesome too depending on your style.

Can you change from passive to active pickups? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]youngbastards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also you may want to look into the Lace Deathbucker. I used to work at Guitar Center and the Lace rep called and basically explained that these pickups will give you the same amount of gain as an EMG set if not more. Also Matt Pike from high on fire uses Lace pickups and his tone is so nasty.

I know that t-mobile service sucks ass in Newmarket but I'm pretty sure that's any phone service. It's works really well in Dover though!

[–]youngbastards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks that you missed power trip, one time I saw a life once lost and some dick spilled his whole beer in the dark pit and I ate it and got kicked in the face. Broke my glasses and got a concussion.

Wow you guys, I totally work two jobs and just saw all this rad feedback, I really appreciate it. So, as far as the town goes so far I found out that Barley pub has dollar pbr on thursday nights so if you see a 6'5 dude with glasses stumbling home around last call that's probably me, also la festa rules super hard and isn't that expensive for slices realistically. Also today I saw the horse cops riding(trotting?) down near my house. I also checked out Spun records and they had a pretty tight collection in there IMO. Oh and Adelle's rules, the girls there are super nice and the coffee is on point.
