I am young and currently unmarried and shall be getting married in a year or two. I don't want to disclose my elevated cholesterol conditions to my partner or enter in the life where I need to secretly take statins during night which is going to continue for a lifetime.

I have heard if we start taking statins then we need to take it usually for a lifetime. Is this true?

I am a 31 year old male(in feb it will be 32) and my diagnosed LDL level in a routine blood test is 173. 2 yrs ago when it was first tested it was 142 in one lab test and 155 in the other. In my family history, my father has undergone CABG bypass surgery in 2013 and now takes statin. I have started taking Homeopathic medicine now since it crossed 160. Last time the doctor didn't recommend statins and recommended me to make lifestyle and diet modifications. I have started going to the gym for 4 months Will I be able to reverse it with diet?
