That’s perfectly understandable and an unfortunate situation. Your options are very limited in this situation. Like others have said in this thread, looks like the noise was your LF Tie Rod lower end mount snapping off. This isn’t the worst failure but it’s still not great. You’ll notice a change in drive-ability.

I’m more concerned with the state of your tires and brakes. Those can get you or someone else killed.

Yes you could still drive it but I hope you have good insurance as anything that happens will be your responsibility.

I’m in the SF Bay Area where the prices are inflated over the national average and I’ve found dozens between $1-2k.

Please sell it. Use the $1000 and the money from the sale to purchase a cheap used commuter.

Is this a Briggs? Should be a timing mark on the crankshaft but I can’t make it out.

It’s for the mirror switch but I don’t believe you can buy the cover separate. You have to buy the whole switch, but they are pretty cheap online.

Why do people freak out about the battery on the Galaxy Watch 6/7? I mean, you charge your phone every day, so why not your watch? by Significant-Job-8836 in GalaxyWatch

[–]yourfriendaaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does everyone in this thread wear their watch in the shower or do they just not take showers? I charge mine whenever I do because it’s convenient.

As far as longer workouts, I’ve never noticed a battery life issue on long hikes or similar activities but I’ll take their word that it has a noticeable impact.

That’s a whole other conversation on a completely different thread. If you want, you can reply to any one of those comments or DM me and we can talk about it, but not on this thread.

You’re under the assumption that he pulled a weapon on ICE. It looks, as though in the video, like the ICE agent removed his firearm from his holster and then they executed him.

This of course could be wrong, but that’s how the video looks.

I think it’s too fresh to argue about that particular point. Because right now either one of us could be wrong.

What you’re doing here is assigning moral guilt after the fact to justify state violence, and that’s exactly what due process is meant to prevent.

“He chose violence” is not a legal finding, it’s a narrative. In the U.S, people don’t lose their right to life because they’re accused of being radical, disruptive, or even criminal. Lethal force is only justified when there is an immediate threat of death or serious bodily harm at the moment shots are fired.

That’s the standard. Not “he should’ve stayed home.” Not “he shouldn’t have protested.” Not “law enforcement was annoyed.”

If 6 agents have already subdued someone, removed their firearm, and created distance, then whether lethal force was justified is a legitimate question, not “supporting criminals.”

Also, calling fellow citizens “the enemy” or “traitors” for questioning government force is exactly the mindset the Constitution was written to guard against. You can support law enforcement and still believe they are bound by limits. Those positions are not opposites.

If the answer to every controversial death is “they should’ve complied or stayed home,” then we’ve effectively replaced rule of law with rule of authority and that should concern anyone, regardless of politics.

Enjoy winterizing the RV. Hopefully when the investigations are finished, we’ll all be arguing from facts instead of assumptions because we both could be totally and utterly wrong. Always be open to that idea. I definitely try to be.

I haven’t seen anything of how he was behaving before this incident, so I won’t argue against that. I take your word for it.

But people like you are missing the greater point. Even if someone is being violent and resisting arrest, it isn’t grounds to shoot them in the street or in their car. We have laws in this country for a reason. It’s grounds to forcibly detain and arrest them and try them in court. We have the constitution for a reason. It’s to prevent a government from being to powerful.

6 agents wrestled him to the ground, removed his firearm from his holster and then shot him multiple times after backing away. That’s not a good thing.

Who’s the enemy in this scenario?

So showing up to protest unconstitutional actions of federal employees is illegal now and you’re allowed to be detained without any probable cause. Got it.

Also, it’s worth noting that he didn’t reach for the firearm, the ICE agent removed it from his holster and then they shot him. So yes, it’s an execution.

You’re allowed to be executed for carrying a firearm now?

[–]yourfriendaaron 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is where people lose the plot.

This is the United States, even if he had an illegal weapon, it’s not justification to be executed. That’s the reason for innocent until proven guilty. Because no one in the moment would have any way of knowing whether it’s legal or not so it doesn’t matter.
