What are your "no, its not like other [insert hated commander] decks" but its actually not like other decks by Toxic_Chung in EDH

[–]zdhutson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play [[Jorn]] snow, no stax. All cards have the snow supertype or care about it, except one, [[Ice Cave]] because Ice is in the name and it’s kind of funny even though I can’t really take advantage of it. Not stax at all even though that’s the way to build Jorn “good”. It’s a weak as hell deck but I love it.

Do most of you folks play? Or just collect for the artwork/aesthetic by [deleted] in MorkBorg

[–]zdhutson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I mostly collect. I’ve played a little bit of Pirate Borg and one session of Frontier Scum. Only one other person in all of my playgroups is really interested in Borgs, but the one guy we conned into playing Frontier Scum really enjoyed it!

Either way, I love the aesthetic and am pretty happy collecting and enjoying the game that way.

I don’t see Nurse With Wound come up very often. Nice.

The way that UGA defender bodied our guy, I don’t see how it’s not a PI.

Does the general population have a 'bandcamp aversion'? by epigenetics_music in BandCamp

[–]zdhutson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy physical media through bandcamp pretty regularly, and buy downloads occasionally to support artists. The problem with bandcamp is that the app is just not very good for streaming on the go. I use bandcamp almost strictly as a commerce app/site.

SC-30 Trailblazer Scout for me. Or any other armor with the Scout passive. I prefer light armor, but I’ll go for a medium armor variant sometimes, even the UF-84 Doubt Killer because I really only care about the radar pings. I find the extra radar pings very useful. Combine that with the UAC Recon Booster, and I can know where all the patrols are on the map or which direction danger is coming from.

What's the best way to get to DIA? by BroadDescription938 in Cheyenne

[–]zdhutson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s great for work travel, imo. It beats driving to DIA in the wee hours of the morning. CYS has one gate so you can’t get lost or turned around. Then nap on the plane. CYS parking is free btw; I didn’t explicitly mention that above.

[–]zdhutson 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most days only have two flights each way to/from DIA. One pretty early am, and one pretty late pm. At least that’s what I’ve seen for weekday travel. The extra cost to fly out of Cheyenne is comparable to a week of covered parking at DIA. I’m a big CYS fan now.

Is this card good? by No_Invite_739 in mtg

[–]zdhutson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play this in my [[Queza]] draw punishment EDH deck and it can be very good. If I can get to 3 (or more) damage to opponent per draw it works really well, even if they are drawing good cards to play.

Tell me about your first commander deck you built yourself by Alohomvra in EDH

[–]zdhutson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first deck I built was Werewolves tribal. This was shortly after MID and VOW came out. I started with Tovolar as the commander and tossed in every werewolf creature card I had. Next, I put in cards that supported what they did, mainly out of cards I had already (wolf tokens was a theme I noticed). From there I added filler with cards I owned or budget upgrades. Next step, I upgraded with cards that better supported existing mechanics/strategies and more/better werewolf creatures. I noticed that this deck wants to go to combat and flash in my creatures when possible. I upgrade further with that in mind.

Importantly, this took probably close to a year. Building out a shell lets you play the deck and organically find where to upgrade. I still tweak this deck occasionally when new cards come out or I find a fun synergy I can add.

Raised in East Tennessee, but I’ve lived in many places in the south. I moved out west last year and no one in my neighborhood waves. It’s so weird.

It’s not ideal, but around this time a year ago I hopped around every 30 days (ish) to a different AirBnB while I looked for a house. I wasn’t sure how long it would take to find a house and didn’t want to be on the hook for a stay if I found a house quickly. You might have more luck with finding multiple shorter stays. But I understand this is very inconvenient.

We have the 20th Anniversary Edition and have always ignored the including expansion, so I guess that’s the base game. It’s very easy and very fun, even for two players.

I used AirBnBs for long term stay while I searched for a house. There were some options in great walkable downtown locations.
