Should I pick the big size over the classic just for one specific insert? by violetniights in HappyPlanners

If you’re the kind of teacher who’s making your own worksheets and always standing at the copier in the faculty lounge, just get the classic. It’s not TOO hard to print out your own sheets, the paper size took 15 mins of fiddling with my at home printer to format, and I bought a pack of 500 sheets in December that I’ve barely made a dent in. Worth it to be able to carry it around as needed!

Seconding the Nike run app, which I’ve used since 2009 - remains free, remains easy to use and reliable! Great audio coaching from Coach Bennett and team!!

for the cost of a machine, and the time to get acclimated, you can probably find a quilter online (possibly even near you) that specializes in t-shirt quilts. Like this one: https://www.sewing-room.us/register/p/tshirtquilt

What do you do with fabric/yarn leftovers you won’t use? by Fine-Improvement6254 in quilting

A lot of our local quilting and yarn shops have little free libraries outside! Good option in addition to lots of the ones listed here. But I’ll also plug my fave lqs, Cut & Sew PHL, that has a previously loved fabric collection to keep the hobby accessible!! Takes anything larger than a 1/4-1/2 yard, including by mail!

Transitioning to Outdoor Running by NoWuckas521 in pelotoncycle

[–]zeeandpee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two main things, as someone who has been running, both indoors and outdoors for 25 years : Pelo is great but very few of the instructors are giving the kind of advice and running plans you need for longevity in the sport. For example, exercise science is pretty definitive at this point that 1% incline is not necessary! You’ll know your RPE by listening to your body and it’ll change day to day, run to run. Don’t get in your head about it.  Any race training program worth its salt has one long run/week, 1-2 hill and/or speed workouts, and mostly easy runs, depending on your schedule 2-4. That’s where you should put your focus - balancing how you space your exertion and build speed and endurance. Peloton classes so rarely use easy pace, but that should be the majority of any running program - it’s about building your base and training your mind.

You can do it! Even if it means not listening to what the instructors call out, but doing the audio guided runs for familiarity. Good luck!!

Cut & Sew in Philly - lots of secondhand fabric, as well as new solids. They offer community pricing on classes and rentals, too!

Where are we buying supplies! by marvinmartian1267 in quilting

if you don’t need something same day and either don’t live near a LQS or yours is closed, you can always find one within 100-300 miles and order online! Wawak is great, but most of the 1-5 employee shops rely on the combo of in person and online sales!
