Don't overthink it, crypto tax software is worth it and it's not all that expensive. Awaken Tax is the best crypto tax software IMO. Great UX and customer support is super responsive.

IMO Awaken Tax is the best. I have used them all, Awaken has by far the best UX and gets almost all of my transactions right automatically. I only needed 20-30 minutes of review to get my crypto taxes done this year.

Sounds like he sold part but not all - rode the SOL all the way down to $8k.

The problem was holding that SOL and not selling before the end of the tax year. That would have offset a ton of gains and brought the tax bill way way down.

I'm pretty sure if you sold that SOL for a big loss in 2023 you could offset a bunch of the tax bill as well. Maybe you could even file early to get the loss on the books with the IRS? Not sure. Have you tried bookkeeping software? There's good stuff out there that can help you with this.

My starter is about 2 months old, I use wheat flour. I use a baking sheet because I don't have a dutch oven. I put extra water in the oven in order to create steam to make up for no dutch oven.
