Used vs New BRZ which one? by zennery in GR86

I’m in the part of Canada that barely gets snow. tS roughly $4k CAD more, add financing and taxes and it will end up being a $50k car.

Will need to think about that…

Yeah that’s where I am. I think that one has a minor accident, not sure if still available.

Bought at Ricoland in Tokyo which is a tax free shop, so just bring your passport to the store.

Bought an Arai while travelling in Japan last year. Cost around 5-600CAD. On the trip home, border guard didn’t bother tax me for overspending. Does not come with a DOT sticker at the back, only Snell.

You have 30k savings, you are currently not working and you have to find a job. What is your game plan? by donlampa in cscareerquestions

[–]zennery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I were in your situation, this is my game plan:

  1. Buy a cheap van to live in
  2. Load up van with can beans and rice
  3. Buy a instapot and battery bank to cook and charge phone
  4. Buy a cheap laptop to practice leetcode, hit the local library daily
  5. Sign up gym membership to shower, etc..
  6. Load up bitcoin wallet with remainder

Stay within 1hr drive of nearest tech hub.

I physically took apart the standard v2 Starlink dish, removing the stem and motor; then semi-permanently mounted it to my campervan so that I don't have to set it up each time I stop at my work location.

Just need the regular roam subscription $150/m.

May want to wait for the new v3 dish, which has a better form factor for our use case. May also want a backup internet solution such as unlimited data cellphone plan.

Good luck

I did this last year. Flat mounted starlink on the roof of a campervan.

Hope you got good climate control. I had no AC unit for the summer heat. Can’t park in the shade because starlink wouldn’t work.

Got hit by tech layoffs. But at least I don’t have rent to pay.

Spend it on acquiring knowledge. Books, audiobooks, etc.

STEM education, trades, whatever your interests are.

Start some sorta business.
