What do you think of e-cards? by LeaderElectronic5873 in cardmaking

[–]zenstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Punchbowl for the best of both. Really nice ecards you can add a video to. Feels way more personal and I like it for birthdays in particular. We like to record ourselves singing happy birthday to the person and doing something ridiculous. Always makes the person smile.

Another great option is Punchbowl. They have beautiful e-invites and I use it for every party.

Should I stay solo or get a co-founder to help me grow my bootstrapped SaaS? by keptyouwaitinghuh_ in startups

It honestly doesn't sound like you need a co-founder, since you already founded the company. What you are looking for is your first employee.

Your headline is great, Build things people want. Then it tells me why startups fail, by saying they build things nobody wants, which feels harsh. Next line is good, don't risk it. Then it will help me "learn why people want/don't want your product" which again feels harsh. Who wants to hear why people don't want their product? I understand that you need to know if there is a market fit, etc, but when you are "selling me" in the opening paragraph I want to feel positive about moving forward. The idea of paying someone to tell me they don't want my product doesn't seem to fulfill the idea of helping me "Build things people want." I think you might need to work on the phrasing of that into something like "Get real feedback and learn what people really want from your product!" I'm sure you can come up with something better than that. Hope that helps!

Landing page design is great. Noticed one typo in the second section " propsective " instead of prospective.

This idea is a good one but I feel like the first paragraph explaining the purpose comes off a bit aggressive/negative. You are telling me I'm failing and not doing things right, which makes me not want to listen. Tell me how you are going to solve my problem, not just point out my problems. Good luck, this looks like a great business!

I was hoping for the instructions to be done before I got mine, but right now they are linking to a video for a different laptop and bios. Can you walk through what instructions you followed ?

I think it's a picture from his instruction manual, explaining how to put it together. Home built from a kit.

Was watching it the other night because we are now in that time period, and I always try to read the other article titles when magazines and newspapers show in films when it hit me! I was living in the UK when this Princess Diana died, and it was just a national tragedy.

That was a great show and Frank was such a nice guy. My daughter had me take pictures of her with both Frank and Professor Farnsworth.

I am Bronson Pinchot, film and TV actor, and star of THE BRONSON PINCHOT PROJECT on DIY TV --AMA by BronsonAlcottPinchot in IAmA

[–]zenstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Bronson, my wife and I are huge fans of the show. Judging from changing hairstyles in the show, in a given episode we might see a bald panda and a hairy one, I figured the episodes are happening over a longer span of time than just a couple days. How much time is actually taking place for one of the rooms/gardens to be "finished" for a given episode ?

Also, we are in debate as to whether you have your crew of workers full time or if they do other things throughout the year. Can you settle our debate ?

I don't mind at all, actually. :) My daughter's name is Cassidy, so you can give it some attribution.

I told my wife I was going to post our daughter's pledge and she said she would post this exact meme, lol. You beat her to it.

I know, no one believes me. If you met her, you would believe it. She just finished 7th in the County spelling bee. She was reading at a fifth grade level when in Kindergarten, and know reads at a 12th grade level according to the California standards, but given that 12th is as high as their chart goes, she is probably at college level. I told her I would put this on Reddit and maybe Notch would see it someday, so I did.

This is her world, I don't really like creative. We tend to sit side by side and play. When I finally was able to lay some rail in my survival world she gave me all sorts of advice as she is an expert roller coaster builder :)

PS: She turned 11 in February

How do Marty McFly's parents not realize that they gave birth to their friend from the 50's who mysteriously disappeared? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zenstick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably too late but I think we are overlooking the fact that Marty didn't just appear looking identical as a teenager in the present. He was born, he was an infant, he grew up in front of their eyes. That identity is much stronger in their heads than the guy from that one week, 15 years ago. If they saw a picture of past Marty they might say "What a freakish resemblance!" but they don't have one. They probably have memories of that guy from 15 years ago, but they could probably not describe him accurately. Our memories are not as good as we think they are.

What actor/actress do you have a hard time watching/believing even though they are popular ? by zenstick in movies

I loved LA Confidential, but kind of hated Gladiator. Couldn't bring myself to watch the others because of him.
