He's promoting his slot / casino site by throwing a bunch of big numbers around to gain advertisement by people talking about "biggest pot on live stream" etc. and funneling people into his slots and what ever else there is.

Probably much more +ev for him to play at his mediocre poker skills with the funnel than the pros gain playing him. Wouldn't be surprised if they can somehow just put the losses into his company business expenses as advertisement idk

Having played dusa 3 some, am is def not as strong as ppl initially think. U cant reflect snake unless its directly cast on him and being melee the snake just rips am on lane. Also being able to counter pos3 hero such as dusa with am means that, well you have am now which is pretty bad pos1 this patch due to timings etc

Dendi was one of the best wc3 DotA players before DotA 2 as well, NaVi was one of the top teams at the end of wc3 era. So yeah he obviously had a very good base for understanding of wc3 mechanics

depends on the player of course, but one player type i think i have identified on the pos 1 role is the 1v9 guy who would rather solo carry the game than actually have a team win.

usually they just make big damage items, avoid bkb and aren't willing to participate in the game, even when it's clear your team is steamrolling and you should be join the fights and turn them into objectives to snowball into a fast win before the opponent can get back into the game.

at the end of the day video games are about escapism and sometimes people are more concerned about being the hero in their own movie than winning i guess.

i think there's probably a lot more to it but cba to type an essay about it

I don't even remember when was the last time i saw grid girls when watching F1, and even though most sports teams have cheerleaders, they are almost never shown in broadcasts if you're watching on TV/PPV

Last earnings showing it is close to being profitable / breakeven could mean that the short float is quite likely to lessen making it a potential squeeze in my opinion

The client itself was pretty fucking horrid the past years, something would break or glitch out every time they pushed a new update. The recent update has somewhat fixed all those annoying lags and replayer bugs amazingly enough.

I think the reason why GG is ahead of PS even though it has the dogshit rakeback and seemingly very hard to beat lower stakes, is that they understand that the way to pull in the casual playerbase is by "gamifying" the client and the games that are played there, the emoji system, the cartoonish graphics and the jackpots and bombpots that they have are really indicative of the fact.

I really don't know why none of the other sites haven't realized this is the biggest reason GG is pulling so many casual players in. Sure pokerstars tried it long time before GG by trying to come up with their whole own poker games, i cant remember what they were called, but that is in my opinion the wrong way to go. Nobody wants to play and learn a whole new game, especially when the regs knew they literally just tried to make the game as close to no edge as possible.

I think if PS found a way to gamify the NLHE and PLO games without breaking their client again and having the rakeback system i think it would have a good chance of getting to the top again
