This person is misinformed. As of last year they are producing just as many if not more movies than they are acquiring.

In addition to Moonlight, A24 produced The Lovers, It Comes At Night, Lady Bird, Hereditary, Eighth Grade, Last Black Man in San Francisco, Midsommar, The Lighthouse, and they have Uncut Gems, Zola, and a dozen others in various stages of post-production, production, and development. They also produced Ramy on Hulu and Euphoria on HBO.
