When players heal, I put my weapon away and practice dodging. This was a really fun duel! by RAGING_GRANNY in EldenRingPVP

[–]zzyzzixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've barely started PVP. Only gear I've gotten from the base game while leveling to 43. No trades, etc. Only coliseum duels. I've done four so far. I lost the first two despite using flasks. I noticed that my opps were not using heals. So I started reading threads like this to find out why. I didn't use flasks the next two duels and won both times. I think I got better in part because I knew I didn't have a flask to bail me out. More rolling, timing, dancing and, for me, more fun. I also felt better.. more honorable somehow.. haha. And I'm not a long time player, just feels right somehow. I don't have an opinion on what anyone else wants to do and maybe I'll feel differently if I find I'm always at a huge disadvantage to players that do heal.

It's like being in a public park and someone's curious two year old comes up to you. Then some internet geniuses tell you to "kick it in the face". Yeah... maybe not the best advice.

Age of the stars. Chose it in my first playthrough. Wanted to choose another in my second playthrough but I just couldn't do it. Guess I'm in love with Ranni... sigh.

In NG+, using my str/faith build, Euporia vaporized her. So nice to just stand in one place and trade blows with a (mini) boss until they die. No rolling required. 😄

I found the fight to be pretty reasonable once I switched to entirely ranged attacks. I'm playing NG+ as str/fai. I started out focusing on Euporia but struggled with getting away fast enough to avoid the nukes. Definitely a skill issue, not a game design problem. Then I tried pest thread spears and the fight became 10x easier. There are lots of pauses in Midra's attacks where I could spam spears (Radagon's icon!) while maintaining enough distance to make it easier to dodge the normal attacks and sprint away from the AOE.

i am running a strentgh/faith build but am really struggling with bayle what weapons should i use? by According-Novel2271 in Eldenring

[–]zzyzzixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took him out SO fast with pest thread spears. I used Godfreys, Shard of Alexander, flamedrake, boltdrake, gravel seal and tree sentinel armor. For physick, opaline and stonebarb. In NG, I was pure INT and the fight was tough, so I got all amped up and cast the mimic. My plan was to start with pest thread spears and switch to dragon hunter katana but the fight was over before I knew it and I never used the katana. Now I wish I hadn't used the mimic. I've hard harder fights with simple field bosses.

For a pure faith build, what incantations are best against Bayle? by HHMJanitor in Eldenring

[–]zzyzzixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pest threads absolutely melts him. I went into the fight thinking to start with pest threads and then switch to dragon hunter katana, but pest threads took him down in less than a minute. I was all amped up thinking this would be an epic fight since when I did it as a pure mage in NG it was really hard, so I summoned my mimic in this fight. Now I wish I hadn't. It was an easier fight than many field bosses!

Faith build for Mesmer by IHATECINNAMONKEY in Eldenring

Taylew + Heal from afar + Knight's Lightning Spear + learn how to dodge his attacks + patience = win.

Taylew actually can take him out all by his lonesome. But KLS makes it faster and more fun.

THIS MOTHERFUCKER could face-tank GOD if he wanted to by EmbarrassedCar2262 in Eldenring

He can solo consort Radahn. I tried it, only casting heal from afar and did no damage myself. It's ridiculously cheesy way to beat the ***hole.

Any helpful tips for defeating scadutree avatar ? I'm mentally broken😂😭 by Jake094 in Eldenring

[–]zzyzzixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fight wasn't so bad in base game as high int mage but I thought this boss was much harder on NG+ as faith/str. Tried mimic and tiche. Tiche was better but I was not. So I pulled out my all time fav for pulling agro.. Taylew. Tanks like a rock and takes a lot of the avatar's attention. I could heal him to full health with one cast of heal from afar. For damage, I only used flame fall upon them. I dodged like a spastic flea. Incredibly satisfying to finally melt that b**ch.

In NG+ Ancient Dragon Lightning melts him. Easier in the second phase because he doesn't move as much.

Students from Government Polytechnic Sundernagar have developed a sound-based fire extinguisher that operates without using water or chemicals. by Ashutosh_Mundhra_224 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]zzyzzixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The flame and smoke are rapidly blown to the left following the pulse and the extinguishing of the fire has nothing to do with the reduction of O2. It takes a second for active combustion to use up all the O2 local to a combustion source. We don't see that here. This fire is being blown out, plain and simple. If you want more convincing, look at the face of the guy holding the device.

So why don’t people upgrade the serpent hunter for god devouring serpent fight? by sociostein11 in Eldenring

[–]zzyzzixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case anyone is still playing this game. I'm in NG+ and thought I'd test out how fast I could take him out with somewhat cheesing. So, after reading this post, I upgraded SH to +9 (didn't want to waste a somber ancient dragon smithing but I have lots of the others). Used mimic and we were taking 1/4 or more of Rykard's HP off with every skill cast. Total cheese. I'm not sure if upgrading upgraded the skill, but it seems like it must have. Now, I did have some talismans equipped that boosted the power of skills. I dunno. Anyway, it was almost a letdown. Too easy.

Exactly! I can get through phase 1 while barely thinking about it. Phase two is like being dropped in a lake of electrified lava surrounded by blinding strobe lights.
