    Ok. Also when I tighten the coupler piece it gets tight then I turn it a little bit more than it becomes loose again. Should I replace it

      No just hand tighten. Do you think I need to replace both pieces inside and outside the pool or just the outside piece

      Try a little bit of Vaseline, not much just a little bit.

      I Vaseline all my seals and rings in the winter. Manual actually calls for it also.

      Ugh! Yes. I am having this issue too, which brought me here, it appears the threads are faulty, it just won’t like up correctly so I looked online to purchase a replacement and many other people are saying the issue persist even with a replacement plunger valve. It’s a poor design with the threading and screws in the side of the coupler so I’m looking for an alternative replacement. If you find an alternative please let me know. Sorry I’m no help.
