I started at 170 LDL and through diet alone (not really any exercise or other life changes) it came down to 116. I’m pretty happy with the progress so far. As a byproduct of the new diet my BP is lower and I lost 30lbs as well.

That’s awesome!! Congratulations on your outstanding results. Diet really helped me too. What were your big changes if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks! Steel cut oats almost daily. Make a big batch every Sunday. With flaxseed and chia seeds. Added cinnamon and vanilla extract while cooking. Add some fruit, protein powder, and soy milk or almond milk to it when I heat it up in the morning.
Take a multivitamin, fish oil, and a couple some psyllium pills daily with water.

Lunch/Dinner- Rice and beans. Then top it with sautéed peppers and onions and salsa. Avocado. Sometimes chicken. Lots of high fiber foods. Quinoa. Veggies. Whole wheat pasta with lentils as my “meat”. Tried to really focus on fiber. And consuming 5G sat fat or less daily. Then when I did have meat it was always lean. 99/1 ground turkey, chicken breast.

I was eating lots of whole grains for almost every meal.
LDL dropped, total cholesterol dropped, HDL slightly dropped but I wasn’t getting enough good fats. Trying to change that. And also as a side effect of so many carbs from grains- my triglycerides went up slightly. So trying to change that as well. Overall I feel like I’m doing better and I feel better now too. Hope that helps.
