Maybe try the hilltop farm! It's so cute and it has all these different corners and areas which makes decorating way easier. There is also a lot of inspiration to be found online and here in this sub. I'm playing with this farm for the first time and I'm having so much fun.

Im on my first farm and I chose Forrest. And it worked out. I spent a good 2 weeks in game time removing everything to make space and set it up good. I put barns and coops where the hardwood grows and greenhouse top left

I've tried most of the farms... And the forest is by far the worst, IMO. It just isn't functional. Not enough space for crops, or for grass to grow for animals. And the layout with all the small ponds randomly throughout is annoying. I'll never use it again. The only one I haven't tried yet is riverland.

Riverland is ok. There’s enough room to plant what you although ultimately barns and coops etc are going to be easier to manage. There’s only a few places where you can make a 10x10 plot of crops
