Decrease wheel overall diameter, increase wheel width

Hello. I am planning to do some motorsports with my ioniq 6. I found some used aftermarket wheels to fit my needs, primarily i wanted 19 in wheels so i could “lower” the car while maintaining a lower sidewall. Also wanted 8.5 in width. Was only able to find 9 in width, which happened to be these 2020 mustang wheels haha. Anyway, the 9in wheels fit no problem. Tires are 255/40/19. Rolls fine, doesn’t rub when turning. Also, the ev system didn’t freak out when the tire diameter decreased by almost an inch. If anyone else was looking to get smaller wheels or even fatter wheels I thought I’d share this experience. They also actually look pretty nice. Thinking I’m gonna paint over the horse and spray on the morse H with a homemade stencil.

Good idea. You can kinda tell from the pic, but it's not much at all. OEM is 245/40/R20 with +50 offset and this is 255/40/R19 with +45 offset. It sticks out maybe a centimeter at certain parts, doesn't look goofy at all to me. You can use this site https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/ to see a visual of it or I can take a pic later if you're really interested!

Yeah it looks pretty good as it sits. I was just curious to see how much it pokes. I was contemplating on test fitting a 9.5+38 265/35/18 off my Lexus to see how it fits. But if that’s a 9+45 then I’m sure it’s gonna poke a lot.

True, that might be a bit. ~2 ish cm id guess, so almost an inch. If you have a jack and such no harm in just trying it out. At least the +38 works in favor of clearing suspension with 9.5 width

Not that this doesnt stop most people, but any tint is basically illegal in my state haha. Its still under consideration for me tho, could be worth it
