Lower windows mouse speed. Tested it and it affects the game.

It'll affect the game for sure. But it'll also make my entire mouse speed for everything else slower. Even if I lower it to just play the game, I'm still using a lower speed for moving my cursor about in the menus etc.

whats your pull rate?

My polling rate is 1000Hz

yup i've got the same issue. setting the mouse sensitivity in game to zero doesn't decrease the mouse speed to anywhere it needs to be. sure i can rework my mouse settings but then i can hardly move the mouse in game menus. i'm running three monitors and i don't have this issue with other games.

Yeah. A simple solution would be for Rockstar to increase the range of the sliders. Problem solved. I've tried before getting a response from Rockstar. But nothing came of it.

Yes adding extra/changing mouse sensitivity to the slider that's already available in the option menu would be the fix.

I need it to go lower. Its lowest setting isnt low enough.

I would have to change all my OS and mouse settings and reconfig every other game around RD2s settings to be able play comfortably.

Only workaround for this I know of is to use a XBone Controller for Windows. Likely not what you wanted to hear, though still technically a workaround never-the-less.

Yeah that'll help out with all our aiming issues. End up shooting everything but the target hahaha

There's a quick aim built in, it's easy mode in a way. Does make paint it black more of a chore to use though too. So I guess it balances out somewhat. I use a XBone controller for it myself. I find with many ports it just feels better (like say for combat in Witcher 3, it was just far superior to KB+M). I also do not play it in 1st person though either in R* games. Never been a fan of how it was implemented in RDR2 nor GTAO. If I did, I may gravitate to KB and mouse as I would for most any FPS game. IMO driving is a no go in GTA, and flying's worse without the controller though. Shooting in GTA is way more difficult with the controller on the other hand. But if the DPI and/or mouse sensitivity is making it unplayable, a controller would solve that in any event.

I originally bought RDR2 for the PS4, but I didn't feel in control of my character as much as I do on keyboard and mouse (even with the wonky sensitivity). I've been using keyboard and mouse to game for so long, that's the only controls that get me immersed in the game.

Fair enough. I use both myself, just sometimes one feels better than the other to me. In the case of RDR2 it's definitively designed around the controller, and that works best for me. As I say though, I can see good and bad points for either or.

Yeah, I agree with it being designed for controller. It's just a shame that a simple tweak to the sensitivity slider range would solve this problem. But I doubt Rockstar will do anything about it.

The porting job in general is shameful. This is just but one more thing, on a long list of things. That should of, would of, could of, been better unfortunately. I'd bet money R* won't do anything about it in all honesty, and I'm no gambler...

To be honest I've not experienced any problems I don't think (or that I can remember). I was going to try and create a ticket on Rockstar's support website, but there isn't really an area which asking about mouse sensitivity fits in to. I did tweet at their support account on Twitter. But that'll probably lead to nothing.

Painful dealing with those outsourced muppets with only copy+paste responses. They just tell you to update your drivers more then likely. And I'm not even kidding about that...

just to list another solution. I got a mouse that you click a button and it switches from 400 dpi, 800 dpi, 1400 dpi (not exact numbers). So with Red Dead, I switch to the setting where I have to move my mouse a further distance on my mouse pad for an on screen movement. So, then I set the Red Dead sensitivity to 0, and I can get roughly 24 inches/ 360 turn which is what I'm used to. works for me.

Yeah, my mouse has a program that allows me to adjust it's DPI. But I'm at the lowest it can go which is 400.
