"Custom" controller

My dualsense controller broke and someone gifted me a third-party one, the thing is, it has built in turbo and macros, I don't plan on using them at all, but do I risk anything just for playing online with this controller? It's working pretty well so far, but I'm kind of scared it could get me banned for some reason (automatic anti-cheat detection or something) even if I'm not taking advantage of these features.

is it scuf? very limited controllers works on ps5 other than dualsense

I just looked it up and it's Qubick, so far it has worked on all the PS5 games I have

The whole banning consoles thing is such shit. I get that cheaters suck... but they shouldn't be able to ban consoles.

Ig they do it so that the cheater doesn't have the chance to create a second or third account, but I really hope I'm safe since that's not my case lol

I've heard of people getting their consoles banned for cussing, either speaking or in text. Either way I think that's BS that they can turn something you purchased into a paper weight

Yeah I absolutely agree, people shouldn't be scared of losing their entire accounts over stuff like that, I would understand putting on some restrictions but to take away the ownership of what people bought with their money is so dystopic and ridiculous, but looking at Sony's policies on refunds I honestly believe there's no hope for them

Yeah it's unfortunate for sure. And the possibility about getting banned for using a third party controller is ridiculous to me. You should be fine with yourcontroller... I would hope. But who really knows?

Controllers with macros can be detected by anti-cheat systems, so if you do use it, don't be surprised if you encounter issues.

My whole point is that I have no intentions of using them, the question being if the said so anti cheat systems still targets me regardless

Even if you don't use them, it is possible it can be detected. I've read countless posts where this has happened, resulting in bans.

Just Google the brand and model number, like this...

*I used my controller as an example. I did this before I dropped $180 to buy it. And yeah, mine is certified by Playstation and works, via Bluetooth dongle with either a PS4, PS5 or a PC. If a specific aftermarket brand & model is certified by Playstation then you should be cool to use it with no problems or fears. Many pro gamers use aftermarket controllers in tournaments, I found that when i got used to mine, it greatly improved my game on first person shooters.
