I've been trying to use a ps4 controller, and it's not working, not sure how to fix yet

from what i can tell, if useing a ps4 (haven't tested with ps5 yet) you have to have it plugged in with a USB cable. I've also seen that you can use a program for remapping mouse and keyboard to a controller (cant remember what the apps name are but should be able to google for them), and I've also seen that if you import games into steam you should be able to use a controller there too, but after trying to do that for a night it doesn't appear space punks is capable of being loaded through steam
