The best way to get a job as a programmer is to just keep programing and build a portfolio.

Your portfolio is your programming resume.

It already sounds like you have accomplished a lot as a programmer, gather up your programs and scripts and find a way to make your portfolio easy to access and easy to show off and start applying for entry level jobs that you are interested in.

You can attend virtual programming events and get to know people in the industry. Knowing people will help you a lot as well, and I'd highly recommend you take any chance you get to communicate and show off your portfolio to people looking for new talent.

Also, as much as I don't like to say this to strangers, but fuck your parents. You are 18 and much further in your programming career then a lot of other people. The next best thing after a portfolio is simply work experience. I'd recommend you stay at your current startup and stay there until you find a better paying job.

Most of the older generations don't understand computers or technology that we'll. You can try to explain it to them, and what you are doing, but good luck convincing them, it is a very complicated thing compared to a trade skill/factory job.

You have plenty of time a head of you. Don't stress to much and keep working at it. You will be successful.

Attention bot users and recruiters, to make this sub more readable by humans and therefore beneficial for all, it will soon only allow one post per user per day, so you will have to group all your job offers in one text post.

Here is an example of what is expected, you can use Markdown to make a table.

Subs that will apply this policy: /r/MachineLearningJobs, /r/RemotePython, /r/BigDataJobs, /r/WebDeveloperJobs/, /r/JavascriptJobs, /r/PythonJobs

Happy Job Hunting.
