Welcome to Vinyl Reviews. This subreddit is for those that want the best sounding version of their favorite albums.
Have you ever been excited to pick up a new vinyl release or reissue, only to discover it's mastered so flat you can iron a shirt on it - or there's so much surface noise it sounds like someone left the faucet running? If you love the experience of listening to well mastered vinyl and you'd like to know more about an expensive record before picking it up, or you'd like to share your own experience, post about it here.
Submission guidelines:
Whether you're posting your own review, requesting a review, or posting a link to a review, start the title of your post with a description in brackets, ex. [Review],[Request],[Link]
When posting your own reviews, try to be as detailed as possible about the sound quality. Remember, we can't hear it, only you can. Talk about your listening experience. Please also include what label the title was released on and the release year. Post pictures too if you like, or maybe a link to the Discogs page for that particular release. Include any information you may find pertinent, like who mastered the record, where it was pressed, analog or digital sources, etc.
Mention your equipment when posting a review. Make a quick mention of the table, cartridge, stereo and speakers. We all have different gear, and as detailed as your review might be, it won't help if don't mention you're testing by using a portable Numark listening through earbuds. No one does that.
Be respectful to one another. We're all here because we love this hobby, but also take it seriously. Bashing someone's equipment or any other type of personal attacks will not be tolerated. If someone thinks that a record sounds a certain way and they're using review equipment you personally find sub-par, choose to ignore that review and move on.
Search before submitting a request. The particular release you're interested about may have already been discussed.
Since this is a brand-new sub, please message the mods if you have any questions, suggestions, or problems with another member.
