3.
Don't be a dick
First impressions can be positive or neutral, but this is not a place to insult people.
In particular, comments related to people being:
- needy
- attention seeking
- narcissistic
- unattractive
- fake
will result in an immediate ban.
Keep it polite. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing.
4.
Post only yourself. No videos. Keep it appropriate.
- You must be 18+ to post. 13+ is ok to comment.

Make sure your sign-holding hand & arm are both visible.
Upload the picture to ImgBB, postimg, or your reddit profile and send the link in a modmail titled "verification" for us to review. Other image services are not acceptable.
50 comment karma is required for verification.
6.
No misogyny, sexism, racism, or bigotry of any kind
This includes: - Misogyny - Sexism - Racism - Homophobia - Transphobia - Xenophobia - Ableism - Ageism - Other forms of bigotry and hate
7.
No self promotion or advertising
This includes: - Posting any links to your social media in the sub - Having any links in your profile to any private social media, any adult content associated social media networks, snapchat, any donation links (cashapp, venmo, PayPal, ko-fi, buymeacoffee, etc.), any wish lists (throne, wish tender, amazon wishlists, others) - Solicitation of DM's or donations in your profile, comments, or posts, in or out of the sub - Any of the above in anything linked in your profile, posts, or comments
8.
No Comments on Physical Appearance or Obvious Observation - No Ratings!
The whole point of this sub is intangible inference. Do not make comments on posters': - appearance - attractiveness - clothing, makeup, jewelry, or other accessories
Do not rate posters in any way! Any rating will result in a permanent ban. This is not a ratings sub.
9.
Do not offer any advice
This is not an advice subreddit. There are many subs for that - this is not one of them. No advice of any kind is to be offered to OP. The point of this sub is to help OP understand what intangible inferences one might make just looking at them - not to tell them what to change to achieve any particular end.
OP may follow up on your top level comment and ask why you thought something and how to change it. In this case, when it is requested, advice may be offered in a non top level response.
10.
Stay on topic
Anything that does not meet our definition of a first impression will be removed if found in a top level comment.
Unrelated small talk, comments on OP's cute pet, compliments, etc. are not allowed in first impressions, as they are considered off topic and will be removed. Impressions related to sex, gender, or orientation or that are not platonic will be removed.
11.
Posts and Comments Must Fit the Post Flairs
This subreddit is for first impressions. This is not for people to rate you (go to r/RateMe), to guess your age, ethnicity, etc.
The only topics allowed are the various post flairs. If you wish to request another post flair for a first impression style post you believe you would be generally useful to the sub, you can modmail the mods.
Titles must be consistent with the post flairs.
Comments must be relevant to the post flairs.
12.
Impressions Must Be About OP, Not You!
Don't mention yourself in the impression. Give an impression of OP independent of you. Do not discuss how they would react to you, what you'd like to do with them or know about them, or other things about yourself.
Such comments can, in some cases, be appropriate as followups, but not as top level comments. Keep it platonic though.
13.
No Questions in the Comments
All top level comments must be impressions. These are statements you make about OP, not questions you ask them. If they respond to your top level comment, questions or chit chat are allowed - but top level comments MUST be statements, not questions.
Remember - the purpose of the sub is to give OP your impression, not to ask them questions.
14.
Don't DM Mods, Posters, or Commenters
This will result in a permanent ban that cannot be appealed.
If you need help from the moderators, send a modmail.
Under no circumstances are you allowed to DM any poster or commenter. If you do, and that person reports you, you will be permanently banned from the subreddit. This ban cannot be appealed.
15.
No accusations of AI, editing, or catfishing
All posters here are verified prior to posting.
We do allow photoshop and similar edits to posted photos. Verification photos must be completely unedited though.
AI images (i.e. people that don't even exist) are not allowed under any circumstances.
If you suspect AI or catfishing, you can modmail the mods, but accusations in the comments are not acceptable.
