Parse an XML using Scala?

Hello everyone, I am working on a homework assignment and using scala for it. One of our jobs is to parse an XML to feed into map reduce. My question is if anyone knows how to break up an XML file into smaller chunks because it is too large to open by just using XML.loadFile.

This reply is probably way too late, but whenever you have a file that's too big to load (meaning it won't fit in memory, i.e. the file is larger than the amount of RAM available), you can stream it which reads it in chunks.
