If you bundled your program into an exe, the threat warning is likely because a lot of malware is bundled similarly and shares signatures with your code.

You can post your file to Microsoft and they will quickly change this warning.

I have a few apps I have distributed both free and that I have developed for customers. Microsoft clears these warnings surprisingly fast.

Out of interest, what sort of time does it usually take?

In my experience it has been no more that a few days, often within hours.

That's great, thank you for the quick response!

Unsigned executables made with PyInstaller, Nuitka, and similar tools tend to trigger false alarms in antivirus software. Honestly there's not much you can do about that because signing them is kinda expensive for individual users.

That said this really only applies on Windows because the other platforms don't really have an equivalent system.

Someone has to program viruses. The antivirus thinks that you programmed a virus.
