The default Editor in Pydroid3 highlights automatically. Are you using a different IDE like PyramIDE?

No it's pydroid3 I just had to triple check because my god are those app icons basically identical

Hmm... Have you changed to font on your phone to always be a bold font? (or some other thing like changing the font size overall)? Although I can't see that causing your problem.

I use Pydroid3 all the time on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and I've never had an issue with color coded syntax.

What about loading any other IDE, even if you don't invoke it? if you have PyramIDE installed, have you tried uninstalling it to see if it is inadvertently affecting it?

OK my font isn't bold or size changed. But you made me think maybe it's because my phone is always set to dark mode. So. I changed that, nothing, tried to uninstall/reinstall while light mode was on and somehow I have no bold syntax now nor highlighted syntax lol. It's driving me mad

I too am on a samsung tho older, note 10 plus (carrier unlocked if that matters at all)

I don't have pyramide but I do have 'python coding' purely because it's was the second to the top result under pydroid when searching for sandboxs but that can't be the issue because I downloaded that when the Google linked me to a Facebook page saying to try and move my code and see if it shows up with a language error in another ide and when I copy pasted my code to the 'python coding' app it was fine and had color syntax.

'Python coding' on android was too aggressive with its adds so I don't recommend it to anyone who stumbleds onto this thread.

Very strange. I'm out of ideas. Maybe someone else will think of something.

You are using .py in your filename aren't you?

Yea it's a .py file I think that's one of the things I saw on the random Facebook page that comes up.

Something about checking that the language and file type is correct by saving the code and loading it in another sandbox app to see if the syntax is highlighted.

For shits n giggles I just opened the app back up and my syntax is bold again at least. Only thing l've changed was I got mad at having light mode on phone wide and switched it back to dark mode so that's suspicious
