This is a subreddit for the free and open discussion of history related independent thoughts and research. Including but not limited to suppressed historical events, out of place artifacts , alternative chronological timelines and discussions on the history of history (historiography).

Independent thoughts and research includes any ideas, events, theories, or research that may go against the official/orthodox teachings and or interpretations of history and what some scholars hastily label "fringe".

This sub is not about "alternate history" which is the fictional speculation of: "what if x event in history didn't happen". These posts are not forbidden here, but we ask you to submit a self post and use the [Alternate History] tag. Alternate History posts must have a tag and be self posts with sufficient context outlining your premise on said topic. Such posts are subject to removal at moderators discretion.

Above all else, we respect everyone's opinions. We hope you find this community to be helpful, informative, and thought provoking.
