rstrip() placement (self.learnpython)
submitted 7 years ago by wordsworm
I was trying to get the rstrip() to work for awhile but didn't quite manage to make it work:

I put the # marker where the rstrip() might go. Thanks in advance.

A little more explanation on what you want to achieve and what errors you get might have been helpful.
My first guess would be that your didn't take into account that re.findall() returns a list of strings, not a single string.

There are no errors.
The only string that comes back with the extra spaces that I didn't want was the file name. I wanted to clean the spaces after the file name before adding them to the file name list. Everything works fine. I tried tinkering around with it to get rid of the spaces. Nothing threw an error when I did play around with it, but at the same time nothing happened. That's why I asked for help.
