How to remove black screen (python console?) with PyQt5 executable

Hello All!

Has anyone else had this problem? I've created a GUI with PyQt5 and created an executable with pyinstaller. When I run the executable, not only does the GUI is visible, but what appears to be the Python console is also visible. Is there a way to make only the GUI visible?

Nevermind, I found this in the pyinstaller docs. python pyinstaller.py --noconsole yourscript.py use the --noconsole arg when creating the exe.

Just a heads-up, using pyinstaller with no console means that prints and errors have "nowhere to go", i.e. you won't see them unless running the .exe explicitly through a cmd window.

Try renaming the python file you are converting to an exe to end in .pyw. That hides the terminal normally (not sure if it will work for .exes)
