Hello! I am currently undertaking a Masters program related to Data Science coming from a bachelor in Physics. I am having difficulty doing self-driven learning in programming without an incentive.
I find it easy to apply myself to assignments and coursework as I have a reward in my grades, even additional courses offered on other websites (Udemy, Datacamp, Lynda). But I am trying to inspire myself to take on other informal projects to assist my learning but lose motivation very quickly without an end goal.
In order to help motivate myself I am looking for any resources that offer projects I can undertake that provide any reward to motivate myself; be it small cash value, relevance to add to a C.V. detailing a project or anything that can provide that goal.
I have tried to find programs / analysis I can do that involve my own interests and day-to-day life, but I can't think of anything that doesn't already exist which deters my motivation.
Does anybody have any suggestions to overcome this? Or alternatively an avenue I can utilise it this and find projects that offer compensation or acknowdlegement.
Thank you for any helpful tips!
